I agree lots of people on here are massively defensive of Miles. If he wasn’t an academy product we wouldn’t be trying to buy him. Not long ago people were saying £10m for him which is laughable at the moment so far this season he is totally out of his depthThe Red Robin said:
Said it for ages about him but get pelters if you dare to criticise him usually. Would much rather see Tanto start.Laddick01 said:People quickly get on TC for his end product but I think Leaburn is even worse.Rarely ever creates something despite getting in some good positions.1 -
Corner headed clear, but no-one out there. Ball comes back in, Knibbs skews his attempted clearance out for a throw by the Curbsside.0
-
Great turn by Ramsay in his own box to get out of trouble when we were under pressure.0
-
Rankin Costello is nicking a living. He’s fucking useless.5

Is that why I said that they've buried nearly every opportunity, rather than every opportunity?SELR_addicks said:

To be fair, could say that about a lot of teams in the Championship in comparison to usCallumcafc said:Armstrong £22m

Playing a team operating at a different level
This has just been one of those freak games, where nearly every opportunity Southampton have had, they've buried it... We were awful in the first half... But majority of teams will have eight efforts on target in a first half, and can guarantee that it won't end up a 5-1 scoreline.
I would suggest the reason they 'buried them' was because they were often clear through on goal, little defensive pressure or a yard out from a cross.
Coventry beat QPR 7-1 with an Xg of 1.02... and 8-shots on target
Coventry drew 1-1 with Norwich having had an Xg of 4.02... and 4-shots on target
Xg like all other stats is a load of f**king shite, and meaningless so armchair fans can sound a bit insightful - Lets not start pretending that a team can have 5-8 shots on target each game, and every single one will go in2 -
Shit ball by JRC to give the ball away, they charge forward but eventually we clear courtesy of Ramsay0

Four coin flips and the fifth one of the highest xG chances you’ll see in any given game.
All five are probably comfortably among the worst chances we’ve given up all season.2 -
Costello looks like our version of Alonso.
Sadly it’s more Mikel than Xabi.3 -
5mins added time but JRC's down with cramp.0

Looks like I picked the wrong week to give up glue sniffing6

Yet on another day he isnt out of his depth. Tactical and squad depletion loss this one, not really a matter of which player is worse than which other one, imho.AndyG said:

Anyone want any Coventry tickets. I’m sure after today some will be on offer. Scandalous performance0

Yeah no, didn't last. Mind you he's had to play more than 30 seconds today.0 -
And the £1m to £3m a year wages they’ll be on. Incredible that we’re still above them in the league!Callumcafc said:Armstrong £22m

An xG of 4.06 would point to our defense giving up such easy chances it was hard not to miss sometimes for Southampton. That's how bad we've been.
A freak result sure, but you can't point to their finishing being the 'freak' aspect of it.0 -

I live a few miles from St Mary's, and am not looking forward to the constant replays of this f'in game on Radio Solent for the next week...😒1

Succession of Saints throws down our left.0

I’m not blaming him for today mate this result is just one of those things. I haven’t seen one game for at least a year where any decent club would be trying to buy him. My point was he gets a pass on here because he is an academy productswords_alive said:

FT 0-0...second half..
Best forget about the first...0 -

Karoy launches it forwards, Tanto does well to charge it down but Saints clear, and that's full time.Charlton 1 Southampton 5.0

Thanks everyone. Turns out that no trains on my line today did me a favour.1

As a side note I'd love to see what the Southampton Manager needs to win by to crack a smile3
