Again, it's not entirely clear what long-term means in this instance, but we shall have to wait and see.

A lot of youngsters signed up now. It's hard to believe that many will make it through to the first team, especially in the Championship, but important to sign enough up so that you don't miss out on the real stars.2

Great to see these Academy lads signing long term contract, unsure what "long term" is, but would assume 3 years+.
Will look forward to seeing Keenan progress and add to his first team selections so far...4 -
Good news, another young player signed up before they’ve properly broken through - obviously a strategy by the club and one that makes sense.
They won’t all make it but those that do won’t be in the first team with a contract expiring at the end of the season.
It’s a financial commitment but they won’t be on big wages, and those that don’t make it might even be sold for a small fee and a decent sell on clause.
He was injured for a while last season, but once fit I saw him on some of the streams and he’s shown he’s an intelligent player in a DM role. I said before he’s a bit like a central Solly - reliable, reads the game well, keeps possession and works hard. He also has experience playing CB.
It’ll be interesting to see if he stays with us, goes on loan, or injuries mean he gets a chance to continue being part of the first team match day squad.13 -

I didn't realise that he had been with us since the U9s!
I've just looked at some clips and he looks to be left-footed. Handy for an up and coming CB.1 -

I doubt the club sign up a load hoping that half are worth the investment. I think they must think that each of them will be good enough for professionnel football. There was a time when we had two or three youth team players come through every season. Some then get bought by bigger clubs, some stay with us. If they have a decent length contract and they’re not good enough then they get loaned out and then sold on for a small fee. The main thing is, signing them on a contract means, they're out of the reach of category A clubs, and the abortion that is EPPP.
If they want them, they pay for them. Full whack. Not 'compensation'. Premier League talk for 'pittance'...0
