England should be 4-0 up….losing 1-0.1
-
2-01
-
Now 2-0 :-(1
-
Spanked 3-0 in the end, don’t hold out much hope for this group0

A steep learning curve for the pampered Premier league academy boys.
Disastrous start although with 8 of the 12 third placed teams going through, we probably only need 1 win to qualify, which we should get in the next game v Haiti.1 -
Saw the second half so didn't see our earlier chances. I did see a pretty decent Venezuela side. Didn't give England any room and when they won the ball back some classy moves to get through England's defence. Though at this level defending is not as organised, that comes with more experience.
I looked online but can't see if itv are bothering with any of the other games. Not even the next England game on Friday.0 -
After a dreadful start to the group, England progress as group runners up after beating Haiti 8-1 and Egypt 3-0.
Group B was quite bizarre. Japan won the group after only scoring 4 goals in 3 games and drawing with New Caledonia. Portugal were runners up despite scoring 13 goals, and Morocco finished 3rd but scored 16 goals!2 -
Looks like we play South Korea in the next round.0

Has anyone been watching the games? I noticed Chizaram Ezenwata started up front for England. He was previously part of our academy and I wondered how he’s looked. I remember he was fairly highly rated a while back.1

I watched the last half hour yesterday on https://www.plus.fifa.com/en/?gl=gb England were already 2 0 up but not getting it their own way ... and then there was a brilliant individual goal to finish off Egypt 3 0.

He scored a hat trick after coming on as a sub v Haiti. You're right he is pretty highly rated and he scores a lot for Chelsea U18s.mart77 said:Has anyone been watching the games? I believe they have games today so we will play another 2nd placed team based on finishing positions so nothing decided yetValleyGary said:Looks like we play South Korea in the next round.0 -
Good 2-0 over Korea puts us into the last 16.Play the winners of Tunisia v Austria.
Emile Heskey’s son looks a very good prospect.1 -

England will play Austria in the last 16 after they beat Tunisia 2-0.
In a huge upset Germany were knocked out by Burkina Faso.
Venezuela who beat England 3-0 in the group opener were dumped out by North Korea. Not quite sure what Kim Jong Un is doing over there, but their women blitzed their way (scored 25, conceded 3) to win the U17 World cup last week and now the men are into the last 16.

Not sure Austria can keep up this intensity for 90 mins, they’re running about like nutters.1

Ta, turned over just in time for that save from Heskey0
-
1-0 Austria. England no16 could've done better in the build up, and not sure about the keeper either1
-
And now one of the England players has got a red card for going in late on the keeper. This is going to be a massive uphill battle1
-
2-0 Austria, courtesy of a penalty.1
-
And now 3-0 . Oh dear1
-
Shocking, like the first game all over again.0
-
And now it's 4. I think I jinxed them when I turned over1

Was wondering why this isn't played in the summer and then some countries (specifically us and Brazil) would be able to have their better players released to play for them.
But then i've just read that this world cup will now be held EVERY SINGLE YEAR and played in Qatar for at least 2025 through to 2029.
Having a world cup every year is ridiculous. I get why it's not held every 4 years like the senior one, but surely at most just have it every 2 years.0 -
It’s not that bad when you think it’s limited to U17. You’d have players born in certain years not being able to play in one if it was every four, unless they’re really good at 14/15.Chris_from_Sidcup said:Was wondering why this isn't played in the summer and then some countries (specifically us and Brazil) would be able to have their better players released to play for them.

Yes that's why i said I get why it's not held every 4 years. But every year is crazy. How do you even have time for teams to qualify?ValleyGary said:
