Well that’s my favourite way of getting 3 points ! You can’t beat a last minute winner lol can’t really say we deserved it but it makes up for the Leicester game. Like others have said Fullah is some prospect hopefully he is already on a long contract. I know I’m going to get shot down here but no way should TC start on Saturday! Let Tanto get at Wrexham for an hour then bring TC on

Terrible performance but they didn’t have many chances either. Great result though.

Jones was incredible. TC and Leaburn pants.

Never want to see Docherty taking a penalty again, just not his game and outrageous if he’s our best taker over Bree or Carey.

I still can’t believe how well we are actually doing - it’s like a fever dream! Long may it continue.
  • Well I thought i’d come on here and bask in a warm glow and I’m reading that because Lloyd Jones, a 30 year old defender has played very well, we are obliged to sell him, because we are not worthy.

And even better, because an academy kid lights up the game for 15 minutes we should plan for selling him soon to “fund our development”.

Some of you need to grow a fucking backbone.
Oh come on Prague be realistic.

This boy looks to be a very special talent. If he carries on developing at the current rate some PL team is going to think he's worth a gamble on. They can offer him 10 times the money we can and his head will soon be turned.

It's s**t but that's just the football world we live in today.
  • "Charlton Athletic have won eight of their past nine midweek (Tue/Wed/Thu) league games, drawing the other, since a 2-1 home defeat by Crawley Town in December 2024."

    Amazing stat from BBC Sport

Feels like Apter and JRC are getting phased out by Jones, so strange such excitment around JRC signing but he has barely played a minute.
Apter is sadly, too lightweight for this division and certainly not a wingback, any more than TC is.
Didnt Apter get our player of the month in august?
    And since, nothing.
  • Lloyd Jones MOTM once again. We have definitely mastered grinding out results.

No idea how we are 5th - the standard in the Championship isn't great....

Tanto is not much more mobile than Leaburn. There is a reason TC and Kelman have been up front for most of the successful season so far, they are mobile and offer an out ball when we are in possession,  and they press when the opposition have it. There is no other combination of our strikers that offers that, until Godden or Kelman return. Although Fullah might.

Unexpected 3 points given the way the game had gone .. the keeper making a massive mistake after producing one of the best saves ever seen at the valley … but this was not pretty , we had nothing up front there was no press WBA centre back had a easy evening .. it was shocking performance from Leaburn and Campbell …. Second half was better Fuller coming on like a breathe of fresh air .. but our final ball was awful tonight main culprits Bree and Campbell … But shot out of nothing and somehow it went under the keeper …. We take it … but NJ you have to make changes on Saturday it’s time for Apter , Olaofe and Knibbs to get a proper run in this team
    Behave yourself !

WBA,looked organised and well drilled and put us on the back foot for a large portion of the game. TC, was man marked and pretty much kept out of the game The less said about the penalty the better.
But we keep going, couple of seasons ago we would have been on the end of a proper tonking.
But here we are 5th in the Championship.
    On to Wrexham, ….

The difference is this ownership won't sell him for the first £2m offer.

With all the money in the PL now, a young player only needs one good season at this level to be worth £10m+.

We also don't have to worry about his contract running out, he signed a long term deal late last season.

Wow! This side is relentless, they never give up even when not at they’re best, god knows what Doc was up to with that pen, Lloyd jones was immense yet again, have to say I may have to review my thoughts on the readiness of Fullah,on top of being good it seems, he is rapid!!, I’ve said before these late goals are not a coincidence. Other teams must be getting so pissed off with us😂.This Charlton side is the reincarnation of the curbs days I tell you but with Nathan at the wheel. It’s so great to be proud of our club again!!.

I agree to a point but I honestly think Wrexham will bully TC to the point that he will disappear completely whereas if he comes on late and fresh he will be more effective in that type of game

Weird that the official club twitter has posted a video with that commentary rather than our own Charlton tv commentary (which is way better for our fans to enjoy anyway!)

I have no idea about JRC but there’s a player in Apter. He will get another chance
Think JRC will get plenty of mins eventually, perhaps a victim of being a bit too versatile almost?

Apter will be absolutely fine , there's a quality player with him for sure just very unfortunate with Bree and Carey being undropable , unless we have a look at him in the TC role??

And that is why you should never leave early.

Not a great performance, partly because WBA didn't allow us to be but in both halves they tired and we finished stronger.

    Poor penalty.

Thought Campbell had his worse game for ages and the midfield couldn't get control but Jones and Ramsey stood strong.

Many have pushed for Fullah to go out on loan but tonight you could see why that's not gonna happen.  MOTM

Hernandez did well, Kammy made one save but it was a good one.

Finally, if you don't shoot, you don't score. Albion had settled for a point, we hadn't and didn't.

A fourth late show and third last minute winner, that is not a coincidence.

We need to be better but despite the injuries we are now 5th and still in every game.

    PWR.

I was hoping we'd hang on for the point seeing that it was 0-0 around the 80 minute mark. Imagine my delight to see that we nicked it 1-0 thanks to Sonny Carey whom seems capable of scoring a spectacular goal out of not much. Delighted with that especially given the injury troubles we have.

    COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lloyd Jones - what an absolute colossus. How are we going to keep hold of him? Worried about the next transfer window(s). Easily the most consistently good player we've had for a long time.
