Makes up for the Leicester defeat.

I know we won...but we were poor and if they had decent finishers would have been out of sight. We badly need a playmaker in central midfield and time to drop Campbell. Bree is way off it at the moment.

    Great win.

Unexpected 3 points given the way the game had gone .. the keeper making a massive mistake after producing one of the best saves ever seen at the valley … but this was not pretty , we had nothing up front there was no press WBA centre back had a easy evening .. it was shocking performance from Leaburn and Campbell …. Second half was better Fuller coming on like a breathe of fresh air .. but our final ball was awful tonight main culprits Bree and Campbell … But shot out of nothing and somehow it went under the keeper …. We take it … but NJ you have to make changes on Saturday it’s time for Apter , Olaofe and Knibbs to get a proper run in this team

I’ve lost my voice! Unbelievable scenes Jeff!

Feels like Apter and JRC are getting phased out by Jones, so strange such excitment around JRC signing but he has barely played a minute.
I have no idea about JRC but there’s a player in Apter. He will get another chance
I don’t think they are being phased out. Apter is just unfortunate to be behind someone as talented as Bree, and JFC is not going to be brought on as a ‘game changer’, so unless we have an injury crisis in midfield he is going to have to wait his chance.
  • We played badly, so did they. 0-0 would've been a fair result. So happy we have Carey and his pot shots in the team.

I dream of the lineup that includes him and Godden. Unexpected goals both inside and outside the box.

All this talk of us not playing well, I don’t know what some of you are talking about. There’s a way we do things; we keep it tight, we sort of create chances here and there if we can be bothered or if someone randomly punches the ball in their own box but the main thing we do is run the opposition team about the place knowing that we’re fitter than them and we can smash one past them at the death. What’s that, 5 injury time goals in 14 games? It’s not an accident. It’s what we do. West Brom never looked like they were going to score, we should have gone one up with the penalty and then as it entered injury time there was always going to be a decent likelihood we would score. This was a perfect Nathan Jones’ Charlton performance, don’t convince yourself it was anything else
Second half you’re right but the first half was poor and uncharacteristically so. A better team would’ve scored against us

Whilst I agree and constantly do on this site (I think you’re one of the best) expectations increase every week. My problem was we can’t just kick and run, luck is on our side at the moment, massively. I love it, but in Jan I’d like to see us get a ball player in midfield that can dictate every time our defence wins the ball back.

Brilliant. Love a last kick of the game winner. God it feels good. The last few years are beginning to fade away. Love the celebrations. Nathan Jones is so funny. Love him.

Another clean sheet! Only Stoke have conceded fewer goals than us. Amazing.

Given that we were close to sending Costello on, to tighten things up at the back, I imagine Keenan was very much there as a worst case scenario for now.

Apter is sadly, too lightweight for this division and certainly not a wingback, any more than TC is.
Didnt Apter get our player of the month in august?
  • When we were relegated in 2020  we must have let a goal in in the last minute or Injury time at least 8 or 9 times. This season is completely different with 4 goals in added time already.

All a sign of a team that never gives up and plays to the final whistle.

One thing that struck me tonight is how many 50/50 balls or loose ones were won by the Albion players. Couldn't work out if they were faster to such balls or just lucky! Made it hard work for us either way.

And enjoy watching young Fullah while you can. He surely - and sadly - won't be with us for too long.

    PWR

94 minutes of bollocks (from both sides) followed by 1 minute of glory!

Sunday League turned into Ice Cream Sundae by Carey’s right foot!

How the hell we get these results I’ll never know …
    we’re still 5th ….
i mean if we stay in the top half I think that’ll be a miracle…
Still looking down and not up

  • It wasn’t the best performance, but three points and it feels great. I’d like to see them work the ball through midfield more often, and down the wings, rather than play the long direct ball nearly every time. I don’t mind us sending it into Leaburn and let him battle for it, especially when under pressure, but the times when we got it into Carey and out to Bree and Campbell we look far more dangerous.

A win that, on balance, we deserved but not one I expected with a minute or two to go!

Edit - oh and Millwall got smashed too!

Lloyd Jones - what an absolute colossus. How are we going to keep hold of him? Worried about the next transfer window(s). Easily the most consistently good player we've had for a long time.

Absolutely no chance we keep hold of Lloyd Jones in the Jan window at this rate. Prem scouts can't be blind to what he's been doing this season. The bloke is a fucking one man defensive colossus
If not for his age I would agree but I think prem scouts want younger players they can mold with sell on value but he could definitely do a job at a lower half prem team.
He can do that with us ;-)

Give him a 10 year contract on whatever money he wants. He’s absolutely vital for us.

Nothing better than a 95th minute winner !!
