What on earth is it with sound on Charlton TV?
It seems like there’s a sound problem every week!

Sound is definitely problematic again. Surprised when we are at home. They now have sound of the stadium at least but no commentary.

But when it was working, Browny sounded like he was underwater. Hopefully they switched it off to get it sorted…

    A pre-recording doesn’t mean it’s fixed.

Sounds like an issue with the connection to the mics in the gantry - I've a headset that sounds exactly like that when it loses Bluetooth connection.

I'm not well so am enjoying the match from the warmer climes of Portugal.

I can’t even get cafc tv to give me the option to buy it and I’m in Italy… anyone got any similar problems? Just says we’re sorry this content is unavailable

    It’s back.
  • Isn't it about time that "someone" at our club took responsibility for COMMUNICATING with the fans regarding the less than satisfactory service that they are paying good money for ?

Following yesterday's issues with the stream of the U21 match, I've made the decision to cancel my £7pm subscription - not an easy one as we enjoy the home games from the comfort of our own settee.

But yesterday was the final straw.

Who should I contact to find out what was going on when my stream (and I believe that of other Lifers ) had reached a few minutes' coverage before stopping ? Refreshing merely started the match again & up to those afore mentioned minutes before stopping...ad infinitum. NO number to call to find out what was going on & from a previous experience, I knew that the email listed as charltontv@streamang.com would not receive a response the same day...Ah, maybe our Supporter Liaison Officer, listed as Isabelle Rogerson could help by directing me to someone who would answer the phone & ideally give some immediate assistance !

    Silly Fanny !

No phone number/extension ? No response...well not for urgent queries . And still no response from Isabelle thus far. Oh, but Isabelle now works in a different department , I was told today ! Hmmm....

Those of us that use/d this service found out for ourselves that no home U21 matches are streamed if the 1st team are playing that evening....No-one bothered to make an addition to " What you can watch" , and I don't believe the narrative on that page of the OS was amended for at least a further season.

As much as we are more than happy at what is happening on the pitch, and we like the BIG new screen & all the flashing adverts/messages around The Valley, shouldn't our CEO be listening to issues closer to home which affect the fans and, when not adequately addressed, can smoulder away until shoulders are shrugged and we grudingly accept that things aren't going to change ...which maybe is how "they" want it.

But then, of course we don't HAVE a CEO at our club !

Mutterings from fellow Addicks I know are that fings ain't wot they usta be behind the office walls. Issues with points being added to accounts when purchasing away match tickets, a friend being told at the Ticket Office that the VE coach he wanted to book a place on didn't service Gravesend which he knew wasn't true but gave up in the end and even today, Charlton 2025 Poppy badges advertised on the site for £5 when purchased at the Club Shop inc via cash , turned out to be £6 today with NO cash accepted....Maybe looked at alone, these are merely annoying , but if taken as a worrying trend which doesn't seem to improve, then someone, somewhere in SE7 needs to sit up & take notice.

But who IS that person ?

    Answers on a postcard, please.

This is odd. We had no issues at all with sound yesterday, everything was fine.

Still not great is it! For me, both sound and picture briefly cut out every 5 minutes or so.

And me. Cut out only a few seconds each time, but that few seconds nearly included the penalty. This time somebody better come out and tell us where the problem lies. Would be an insight if we can find out if other clubs fans are also suffering or not, but I can‘t think of an easy way how to find out.

Same here. I assumed it was my ancient laptop not keeping up, but evidently it's someone else's tech rather than mine. Massively frustrating.

Screen kept going black for a few seconds then lost the feed altogether and had to kill and restart the feed, same streaming error on both Chrome and Firefox finally got it back 5 mins into the second half. Failed just after the end of the first.

One of the only things Sandgaard got right.
... And one of the only things the current lot are getting wrong.

Maybe because I am an older fan, but I remember the days when you couldn't get to the game, an update on the radio or teletext was your best bet for following the game. Then we got audio only delivered by the club which was great and we are now spoilt with the charlton TV coverage for what I think is a reasonable amount. So when there are gremlins, as long as I can see what is going on, I don't mind too much, but of course the club should work with the EFL to make sure these issues are resolved.

And maybe because I'm a slightly older fan, I remember the days when the only score you could get on a Saturday afternoon on Grandstand was the final one on the teleprinter! And for midweek games, you only knew the final score if they gave it out on the news (as they used to do) or on a sports desk on BBC radio at 9.55pm!

And then, wow the remarkable development occurred of score flashes being given out from the grounds on Radio London! I seem to recall Peter Burrowes always seemed to be covering our games.

And now live streaming of games is the norm. Incredible really how things have moved on.

I can still hum the tune for that radio sports show.
