    Kelman is never going to win many headers, so we shouldn’t judge him on that. What disappointed me today was that he wasn’t willing to run into the channels, which is what he’s good at. 

    Maybe he’s been told to stay central and be our focal point, but I’d much rather see him always looking to run in behind

    The issue with Kelman has never been his finishing,  it's the lack of shots, the lack of attacking threat so far this season. Is that the fault of the "team system" or is that the player not having the instinct to get into the right places on the pitch? Penalty box poachers get several tap ins a season because they move to where the ball is most likely to fall, I'm not sure Kelman's instinct is as good as Godden's, but then the same could be said of Swansea's attackers.

    By contrast the goal showed the best of him, Kelman running onto a through ball and burying it.

    I made an effort to watch him more closely today, particularly when we were in attacking or wide positions. I noticed he  was doing a great Stockley impression, walking into the opponent's box and standing still.

    Hopefully the goal will ignite a much-needed spark.

    Gives me Ronnie Schwartz vibes, clinical finisher but lacks in a lot of other areas, if he can at least sort out where to be to get chances he will score a lot of goals just naturally being a good finisher

    He’s looked most dangerous when we find that ball in behind. He doesn’t quite have the pace to then get to the byline though. 

    Finish was really good which was pleasing. 

    Thankless task playing as ST in this system. I doubt many players in this league would be able to score 15+ with how little service he’s given

    I think the goal yesterday will help Charlie, realistically I’m expecting 10 goals from him by the end of the season, (providing he can stay fit).

    Made myself look a bit of a tit there but I was sat West Lower up towards the Swansea end and. distinctly remember him winning headers against a tall back line.

    Agree with one other comment, he is more dangerous with balls over the top. 

    Aside from the aerial duals, I really don’t think TC and Kelman are well suited. That’s the issue.

    Nothing he could have done with that Carey blasted the ball at him was just a poor shot almost impossible to control a ball at that speed

    No, you're both correct, of course.

    You never see strikers getting a touch on someone else's shot and diverting it into the goal. I mean, if you're a striker and stood 7 yards from the goal you're attacking it's not as if you would be expecting the ball to come near you, is it?

    No doubt it was a difficult chance. But my point was that people have been saying he just needs something to fall his way, and there it was.

    Anyway, he's scored now. So pressure is off.

    Think that’s a tad unfair. I can’t remember exactly but I think a cross came in, someone missed it and it practically hit him before he had a chance to react. Seems people (not necessarily you) will use any stick to beat him with. It’s really starting to piss me off. I’m just pleased those in the crowd haven’t turned on him and most criticism has come on social media where we are all experts.

    FWIW I'm pleased Charlie broke his duck and hope he can kick on from here. Pretty confident he won't get double digits, more like 6-8 goals.

    Your posts are typically sensible. This one isn't.
    A scuffed TC shot dribbling tamely at Goddens feet 3 yards out is in no way comparable to Kelmans "chance" this weekend.

    Looked like half a chance from the covered end but willing to take the opinion of people sat nearer. I think the fact it pinged off him in loads of space tamely towards the keeper made it look like it might’ve been deliberate. Just bad luck I guess.

    Carey scuffs the shot and it bounces into the ground, it’s hardly going at 100 mph. Kelman could have done better, and although granted it was a difficult chance, I think Godden scores that.
