Football supporter federation petition against high ticket prices for suffering away fans.

  • Not sure there are many, if any, Premiership tickets at £18.
    Probably wrong though.
  • So PL clubs get all the TV money, they are rapidly de-gearing their balance sheets (in the main) and so are in rude financial health. In return they can afford to give fans cheaper tickets to come and see a premium product.

Meanwhile clubs outside the PL get relative peanuts from TV, are in debt and getting worse, have no way of reducing prices because of this and hence will charge a premium price for a lesser quality product.

In addition West Ham move to a stadium just down the road....

Anyone see a problem on the horizon?
  • The sole target of clubs should be to maximise match-by-match ticket revenue from away fans - after all it's not as if any of them are going to come back again because they like the experience. I don't agree with the rule that requires clubs to charge away fans the same price for equivalent home seats - people can instinctively accept that regular (or potentially more regular) consumers get a better deal than infrequent ones in other industries, so why not football?

If away fans actually stopped going (instead of complaining but still going) then the price point at which revenue is maximised would come down. You sometimes sense that fans don't realise they're not actually required to attend.
  • The Premier League has £30 away cap, why can’t the EFL do something similar.

The value of some tickets this year madness. Should at least be £35 max!

CAST are tracking away ticket prices. It’s an active topic within the FSA (Football Supporters’ Association).

Weird how they decide which games go in which category. Sheff United B, but Bristol City A is odd.

The A+ prices are outrageous.  Swansea fans being charged them because it's Boxing Day is ridiculous.

I’m more concerned how much our season tickets are going up by for next season.

The phase 2 prices back in the pre season are what I expect the early bird prices to be when they are announced by the club in 2026

£45 is a disgusting price for Championship football. Coventry owners/SMT should be ashamed, but they're probably slapping each other on the back proud of the prices.

I would imagine that Coventry are assuming Boxing Day is generally popular for fans thus hiking up the price.
Sheffield and Bristol is a strange one, if anything you'd have thought it would be the other way around.
Hopefully West Brom will boycott this in big numbers.
The capping of tickets for away supporters is a good thing but ultimately the home clubs get their money back by structuring the prices for home fans and get their dough back that way.

A long trek on Boxing Day without any trains is unlikely to be that popular for away fans.

I disagree. I think for a lot of people it’s a relief from whatever they do at Xmas. It’s the highlight of mine tbh.

Given we had five different adult prices for each match in the same single tier stand 10 years ago, I’m not sure we can criticise.

It shouldn’t be allowed to have this gold silver bronze nonsense for home or away.

Nathan Jones seems to tell us every week that whoever the opposition it’s going to a tough game, they are strong etc etc. In other words all games are equal.

Vary the price by the ‘quality’ of the seat / view only.

We know it’s all about a means of extracting more from
the fans at a time when some supporters are struggling with the cost of living.

It’s unnecessary and ultimately makes  it harder for some.

Taking the p*** out of fans will always be the case.

Attendances do not seem to be a problem(the credit card is your friend).  Certainly gates in the Premier League will back this up, coupled with the outrageous costs for VIP that fans pay.

Whilst you have day trippers and tourists ticket prices will hit the season ticket holders and regular fans.

No one hates the scum more than me but saying they should be charged £40 is unfair on the small minority who aren’t complete cnuts
