It certainly is the EFL’s responsibility. Everything from all the games goes through their central studio in Osterley. The big apology board is the exception to that, it was obviously knocked up on the hoof as it became clear the problems were hard to fix.

If you want compensation, ask the EFL for it, and while you are at it, ask them why we had TWO double aways in five games.
Why was there no problem with the Hull commentary?

Our commentary team seem to have to been using new kit (as alluded to by Tel early in the match). It does beggar belief that you would not test this tech out BEFORE inconveniencing paying customers who are bringing in a few £1000 of revenue.  The most galling thing is the lack of follow up comms apologising or offering recompense. It’s not a free service, it’s actually going rate for a stream (film, gig, theatre streaming as comparison).

When we couldn’t hear, somebody made sure we couldn’t see near side play as well.
It might sound revolutionary, but shouldn’t everybody involved test out the whole system the day before, the morning before or in the hours before?
It is times like yesterday I imagine idle people leaving things to the last minute whilst using the magic word ‘should’, as in ‘it should be all right’.
Change that to ‘it will be all right’.
Yesterday, when there actually was commentary in the second half it was depressing to hear defeatest Steve Brown going on about tiredness and fixture unfairness, when what I was watching the players the coaches and the manager not giving up and trying to find a way back…which they did.

If there wasn’t, I suppose its because they can feed it out to their web directly, as we would at home. All the comms problems I can recall on Charlton TV have been at away matches.

I'm sure Charlton could do this but would the EFL pay to send cameras and the whole crew the day before every game. Maybe play a whole match just in case?

You could do it in the hours before but what if it doesn't work. Just keep trying and warn people there's a problem.

Any outside broadcast worth its salt would have resiliency built in (additional and alternative kit). There are many times this is proven to not be the case on Charlton TV.

Again, I am not even that annoyed about the specific outages yesterday, just that the club is not owning it and apologising.

Different service apparently, that is what Greg said on comms.

Now I could be wrong here, but I remember that reference from Tel, but I understood him to mean they were trying something to get round the problem that had become apparent when they arrived at the stadium. Several times he also said that these problems are "completely outside our control". If the problems were caused by some new kit they themselves brought along, he wouldn't say that. As far as I know Tel (and I've only met him once years ago but i took to him straight away) the word "completely" is code for "we've been fucked over by the EFL/Sky, again"

Fair enough. My point remains though, it should not be Tel making the apology, but the club making it right.
