Is it worth undisabling the comments on the pictures, so we can suggest names for the people in them if they don't have them, or is that going to make too much work for you all to keep an eye on?

Lovely set of pictures. Well done to everyone who helped make this happen.

I do think it's a shame that they are spoilt with the watermarks though. Does this mean that the museum has the plan of monetising this collection somehow?

The one that brought me up short was this one, which I'm pretty sure is a baby Paul Linger:

    I'm with @Stig on this.

Listen, be in no doubt I think this is a fantastic initiative which will keep Tom Morris' wonderful record of the club alive for future generations. Huge thanks to those who have thought of the idea and are carrying out the hard work of digitalising the photos.

    BUT

You are ruining them by plastering the Museum logo all over them. It takes the enjoyment out of looking at them.

And why are you doing this? Are you frightened that someone might download a few and stick them for sale on Ebay? In all honesty, I really can't see there is going to be a huge market for most of these pictures, if indeed any market at all.

I raised this question last time a thread like this appeared and got no answer. I'd be grateful for one this time.

I'm pretty sure that the TM-26-52% ,TM-26-50% and TM-26-48% headshots were used in The Valiant 500, which should prove useful for the youth team players as they were all included in a section at the back.

Well done museum, both for digitising the pictures AND protecting your copyright!

The watermarks are now so small that it really can’t spoil anyone’s enjoyment of the picture, whilst at the same time ensuring any commercial use ensures revenue to keep the museum going.

You have got the balance right.

If having the owner’s logo is ruining your enjoyment, you sound far too fragile to attend a Charlton game where the opposition might score a goal.

Not only can they spoil someone's enjoyment, but they are spoiling mine.

Fair enough - different things affect different people in different ways.

Don't be so silly and make such a daft comment.

It's a serious point I'm raising. Why do you think its necessary to plaster at least 6 watermarks over each picture? It's totally unnecessary and does spoil my enjoyment. And in any event, does the legal ownership of the photos actually rest with the Museum or with Tom Morris' family. (I have no idea - just asking the question).

As I said, are you afraid that some people may try and download a copy of some of the pictures? If it's for personal use, is that a bad thing? If they are doing it to try and put them on Ebay that is a different matter.

Or is the Museum going to offer a service where the photos can be bought without a watermark? If that's your aim, I have no problem with that and would happily pay a few bob for one or two that I would like. But just be honest and say that is your intention.

We toned down the watermark considerably after feedback but we do want to protect our copyright.

I don't think they are that intrusive but accept that is a personal view. Certainly, they are IMHO, less so than many of the big agencies.

@aliwibble I will pass that on to the others who are doing the hard work like @redlanered

You're right @aliwibble, it is Paul Linger.  It's not obvious when you view the Flickr site, but we do have info regarding the player, match, etc, but you have to scroll down to see it - for example

Good spot, this has now been updated. There were a set of photos that accidentally had been marked 2025 rather than 1992.
