Nothing against TC and he’s brilliant but I’d just like to see Tanto start with Kelman with TC doing their last 30 of needed

the boy needs a bit of a rest
I’d rather we have our best team out on Saturday. TC is in our best team so I’d agree with giving Tanto a start tomorrow night so TC is fresh for Saturday. If Tanto does well then maybe they both start on Saturday

Whoever drew up the fixtures doesn't like us.

4 away games out of 5 , including two lots of 2 in the same week, is just plain unfair.

Don't know whether we should rotate a little for this match or Saturdays visit to Hull but NJ really needs to do it sometime.
Lincoln have 5 consecutive away games- so could be worse
  • Agreed, TC is brilliant but he looked tired on Saturday no surprise with long flights to play 2 internationals and time difference.
Tanto & Kelman to start with Miles & TC on bench.
We know Jones likes to stick to the same players but think this match is big ask for TC to start and give the team the energy and speed his game is about. Be good to mix it up and see if Tanto works with Kelman and later can get off the mark with a goal
Looking fwd to watching this match on TV. COYA's

Against Sheff Weds I was hoping to see a return to the intensity  of the first 3/4 games in the season- the NJ "system" depends on it and there has been abit of drift away from that level of effort.  After an international break I hoping to see return to frenetic competitiveness.Dont think it happened on Saturday. We need it tonight.

    A good hiding?
Campbell is the out ball. Without it we stay under pressure.
You only have to watch what happens when he is withdrawn.
Indeed. He always draws two defenders, allowing Carey and others space.

Agree with the tc comments I do like him but he looked knackered in the second half and needs to rest and come off the bench.

This will be a really big test and our strongest opponents so far. If we come through it with a decent performance and a draw or even a narrow defeat then I won’t worry about our chances against against anyone in the division.

Blimey on sky bet we are 5/1 for the win!
That's probably about right. What's more surprising is that Preston are 2/1 to beat Shef Utd at home on Friday.

AT THE GROUND – PORTMAN ROAD There is no official stadium car park, but there is parking all around the ground. The closest is a large car park on Portman Road (right by the away end, post code IP1 2BP - note comment above re event day parking costs). Spaces are usually easy to come by, however be prepared to wait 15/20 minutes after the game as the Portman Road entry/exit is closed whilst pedestrians clear. Vehicle access via Friars Bridge Road to Princes Street remains open at all times. There are also large car parks on West End Road (5 minutes’ walk away, post code IP1 2DZ – note comment above re event day parking costs) and at the railway station (less than 10 minutes, postcode IP2 8AL).

    Nice comments from Kieran McKenna.

    Awkward little Charlton????
Doesn’t use the word “little”, doesn’t look like they’re underestimating us.

As others have mentioned a real tough game ahead. The players will cover a lot of ground to keep up with Ipswich which will be difficult over 90 mins. But Derby grabbed a draw and their fans cannot be happy with their current position. 1-0 to Ipswich in a very tight game.

I didn’t say they did, I posted after which would explain what I was asking, hence the question marks.people were saying they were nice comments, I was asking if they sounded slightly condescending, hope that clears it up.

Not confident but the type of game we end up nicking. A point will be pukka.

I know they say you should never change a winning team but I hope that we rotate for this one, would like to see Tanto start

I heard his post game interview with Louis on the Charlton Live pod the other night and NJ said there would be changes for the games this week. Guess some of it depends on who's knackered or has niggles etc., but I'd imagine it'd be the more regular 'game changers' who are in with the best shout of starting...?

Could be an opportunity for Apter to be played in his proper position.

this is a test  - need to take our chances as we don't create much.

This is a game where our counter attacking has to be spot on if we want to get any sort of result. With that in mind I hope Ramsay's back in the side and doing his thing as we've missed his ability to dispossess the opposition and launch attacks from deep over the last few weeks.

I just can’t see us getting anything from tonight if I’m honest just hoping it isn’t a massacre but crazier things have happened I felt the same going into Leicester and Bristol city.

Their 3 homes wins have come vs Sheffield Utd, Norwich & Pompey. The first 2 are awful and Pompey were notoriously bad away from home last season. Hopefully we prove a tougher test.

5-1 to the Addicks, just like circa 1995 when Leaburn Snr scored a hat trick, maybe Leaburn Jnr will oblige, and get one this evening.

I think McKenna and the entire Ipswich squad will have seen Tanto cleaned out while being through on goal on Saturday. I think they may fear him more than TC. Start him please.

I've parked south of the station, just off Belstead Road.  A fair walk away, but no yellow lines.

What a great day that was…Leaburn’s hat trick. Exiting the car park was probably the politest and happiest car park ever with Charlton supporters giving the “after you” nod. 🤓

You can’t. You can watch it on the sky sports app on a phone/tablet or on your sky box but not sky go
