The Admiral brand still very much exists and they do there own retro range

The Admiral tops in the 70s and 80s were fantastic.  I still think the Coventry tops with Talbot as a sponsor were one of the best of all time.  I particularly liked the brown away top.
our Alderwood primary school kit, the brown one

Yeah these 2 look like temu knockoffs, 2 stripes instead of 3 is a bovvy market special.

I am glad you have mentioned that, I thought it was only me.  I didn't buy them when they came out last time because of this, I would have bought both home and away last time if they were the 'proper' retro.
For the life of me I do not know why the full amount of stripes are not used.
Adidas wouldn't be best pleased. Obviously doesn't stop knock offs like red robins retro doing it but not something the club would want to try.

Other clubs produce the Adidas retro with the correct amount of stripes, so why can't we?  A shame.
Presumably Adidas are involved in that. I haven't checked but might be clubs that are currently supplied by them.
This has the correct amount of stripes but may be a snide.

That isn't official Man Utd stuff and even if it was their current contract is Adidas anyway so the 3 stripes wouldn't be an issue

So have I read your post correctly, in that we should be able to produce the full amount of stripes?
No you’ve completely missed the point. Man Utd could do it if they wanted because Adidas make their kits. We can’t because Reebok make ours, not Adidas

    Aha, thank you.
So then it comes down to a copyright issue, thus the lack of all the stripes?
    Correct

    Again, thank you.
Am I right in thinking that if a kit manufacturer no longer exists then you can produce the exact one again?
Yes, which is what the club have done previously. I assume that's why we've also been reproducing kits with defunct sponsors (even if someone technically owns it as pointed out above. Barclays are highly unlikely to sue us for us of a logo they would never use anyway)

Thank you very much Mr Google, have a nice weekend.

2 parts of the year where a football club shop makes more money than normal

When the new kits come out in pre season and

The weeks leading up to Christmas

To close down a store in a busy shopping centre as in Bluewater 2 months before Santa Claus arrives and then not reopen one  elsewhere would have been a business owners own goal.

Common sense tells you when the shop opened in Bluewater back in June, that it has be to kept open in one shape or form until the new year.

Still no 6-7 yr old sizes in any kit, we were told 8 weeks wait when they released. Unless they arrive within the next couple of weeks, theyv missed out on £300+ from just our household alone (i cant be buying me one and not the boy) as itl be waiting for the january sales or next seasons shirt soon.

I'd like to know how many other clubs have problems with sales of shirts, surely it is not just us?  However, it has been a continuous problem with availability of the biggest profit margin the shop makes.

We have to remember several things. When kit deals are put together it's months and months in advance, sometimes more like 12-18 months. Designs are finalised and manufacturing starts earlier than when we all see it. However the logistics behind this means they have to guesstimate amounts to produce far in advance, and whilst Reebok were putting this altogether we had probably just finished in our worst position in the league for nearly a century, and mer h sales would have been very low, with much lower crowds and no enthusiasm around the place. Fast forward to now and demand for tickets to the games hasn't been higher since maybe the couple of seasons in the Champ after our premier League relegation, probably took a lot of people by surprise given where we were even in November last year. We're also Reebok's first foray back into the market in a decade, there's always going to be teething problems.

All they need to do to put it right is launch some limited edition reebok classics in red with a Charlton sword on the tongue and I'm sure we can all forgive them

They also have to predict the sizes required. If loads of 4XL and 5XL shirts are left over, clearly as a fanbase we're thinner than they expected  :)

  • Finally!

My Son got his the much waited for Away shirt, that’s been out of stock for an age, paid 3 quid extra to get a championship badge on the arm.

Still waiting for the black tracksuit trousers with zips on the bottom, and with zipable pockets (£55) to come back in?

Are these the Reebok “player” ones in black and a bit of grey? I was told that Bluewater didn’t have any as I was also looking for them. Went in last week and they had absolutely every size.

  • Isn't it about time the club starting setting up matchday retail points / desks or whatever within the stands, the Fans Bar and the Fans Zone  to make purchasing at least some items more accessible to purchase for fans ? Not everyone wants to queue up to simply get into the store and then queue just as long again to pay.

In what space on the concourses do you think that could happen? There’s probably some room in the Covered End but both the Curbs “concourse” and West concourse are absolutely rammed before KO and during HT. Fans bar is often standing room only and the fan zone is busy too. The reality is the shop needs to be bigger but there probably isn’t space

The Fans Bar has a small bar down the end that doesn’t seem to be used on match days. The Fans Zone could have a marquee/big tent attached to it. Most fans tend to go through the turnstiles and immediately walk away from them either towards the bars, the toilets or pitch side to their seats. I would have thought space could be found near those turnstiles. In fact, wasn’t there a kiosk or something for placing a bet in the lower north once upon a time ? I’ve not noticed it for a while though TBF I haven’t been looking for it.

Only place you can do a concourse kiosk is the one that's shut by the NWQ in the CEL, but it's right next to the busiest gates in the stadium so I can't see them doing that, it would be carnage if you had a bunch of people queuing there to buy stuff.

It's an easy and quick sale to get £15
The weather is changing, woolen hats will sell easily as well, £30 flogged in a minute.
