Trouble is that the big clubs will have him on their radar.

I think big clubs will have all our academy prospects on their radars already. They'll know all about Fullah,Kanu,Mbick already.

Not a problem when he has a contract until 2028 plus another year club option.

Keeping Tovide out of their team, who we tried to sign
  • That highlight reel for a 19yr old is superb. I wonder if we will move him to a L1 club in Jan to see how he deals with it?

He’s already played in the league cup for us so we can’t send him on loan to a L1 club it’s either Colchester or he comes back to be part of the first team

Crazy highlights reel from Mbick. Great feet, knows how to use his size, and looks very mature with his use of the ball. If he can physically dominate L2 defenders at 18, what's he gonna be like at 26.

NJs comments about Mbick’s performances in training when he started making our bench make a lot more sense - he’s now showing the same quality and confidence on the pitch.

Excited to see what Mbick can produce with a whole season in League 2 , double figures would be a nice return.

With respect to Kanu, I dont think he would be on the radar of a big club. His ceiling isn't as high as the other 2, at least in my opinion.

Ah, shame. Silly to have played him in hindsight, but Colchester for the season will still be good for him

In the same position with Kanu too. A full season of regular game time in L2 will do them good

Even if we could recall him, I’d leave him there to thrive for the entire season. Same as Kanu. If they both hit double figures - which they’re well on course to do - then that will do them the world of confidence.

Great that Mbick and Kanu are making such a big impact in L2, and not just for their goal scoring. A Barrow defender picked up a second yellow for pulling Kanu back.

Reading vs Northampton - Terry Taylor played the full 90 mins in Northampton’s 1-0 loss, the only L1 fixture played on Tuesday. Northampton doing well and sitting in 11th in the league.

Stevenage vs Palace U21 - Gassan wasn’t in the squad for the Vertu Trophy. Stevenage won 5-2.

Salisbury vs Farnborough. - Toby Bower started in the 1-0 loss. Was subbed off on 72 mins. Ollie Hobden wasn’t in the squad despite starting at the weekend and getting subbed at HT. Farnborough are struggling in 22nd.

Alex Mitchell played the first 45 minutes in Plymouth's 2-0 defeat to rivals Exeter before being hooked at half time. Doesn't appear to have been injured

Plymouth forum quotes Tom Cleverley as saying Mitchell has serious personal issues but was asked to play... not great if true. Hope he's getting the support he needs (including from us, as far as possible).

I watched the first half, and Mitchell had a good game. Couple of lovely cross field balls, and decent blocks, he got beaten in the air for the first goal but there were about 3 different mistakes from Plymouth players after that before it went in.

Not very clever by Cleverly. And is this exacerbated by our own lack of a PLO at the moment.

Weird he didn't start though. Fotmob had Charlie Barker down at RWB. I know Dixon is more of an attacking player than a WB but that seems an odd choice

    9 mins today
    Hooked after 55 at Cambridge
Didn’t even come on at Barrow
    37 mins at Notts County.
looks like Dixon has fallen out of favour if he can’t even get into a starting XI for a bottom L2 side, does make you question will he be good enough for Charlton in the future
