I'll admit I do not keep tabs on other region's qualifiers, but should Jamaica, with the number of players they have in the EFL, not be beating sides like Curacao comfortably?
Curacao have a lot of players who have played or currently play in the Dutch system and are well coached. I think a large part of the problem for Jamaica is Steve Mclaren
I assume they must have a lot of Dutch players with Curacao ancestry,  as it's a tiny island.
Every single player in their squad was born in the Netherlands and quite a few of them played for the Dutch youth national teams. Basically they have chosen Curacao after it became clear a Holland senior team call up wasn't likely.

Quite humerous now that TC is able to be incredibly dangerous on two teams that can't score.

(For the record I'm glad he's doing well for his nation and hope they qualify).

    Appropriately enough...

Bell and Campbell drop to the bench but Dixon starting against Bermuda.
  • You have to hand it to Dixon.  He certainly makes things happen. His unconventional playing style is exciting and often leads to really good opportunities although sometimes he seems a little naive when it comes to the basics and he really falls down a lot.  Announcers are  raving about his creativity.

We dodged a bullet when it comes to Lembikasa.  Absolutely awful defensively.  Glad we didn’t sign.

I am not a cricket fan, but did the Netherlands not once beat England with a team including many Curaçaoans?

Will be interesting to see how many of our Jamaicans start against Sheffield Weds. Doubt they will be back in the UK before Thursday afternoon.
There not due back at the training ground till Friday that if there no delays etc .. don’t think any should be starting on Saturday .. when we have a big squad now
Yup, I think you have finally managed to get TC out of the team, Ronnie.

Jamaica 3-0 up at half time courtesy of a Bermuda own goal, and goals from Reid and Nicholson, both via assists from Cephas. Dixon nearly scored but had his shot diverted onto the bar by the keeper, and has just been subbed on the 60th min.

Campbell on for Cephas (who's had an absolute storming game) and Anderson on for Reid.

4-0 now, solo goal from Richards with an assist from a slightly lucky rebound off a defender

Final score 4-0, and Jamaica are now top of the group after Curacao drew with Trinidad and Tobago. Campbell didn't do a lot after he came on, as most of the attack was going down the right hand side, but Anderson was quite busy in midfield.

Match report below, here's the paragraphs for our players

Kaheim Dixon – Grew into the game and had some great moments, but this showed why he doesn’t always start. Even under no pressure, he was guilty of sloppy passing in the first 10 minutes. The talent is undeniable, but he’s still a rough diamond. It’ll be fascinating to see how he develops in 3–5 years.

Tyreece Campbell – Tried some stuff, but Richards was balling out on the other side, so he looked ordinary.

    Karoy Anderson – Eh.

    You're talking bols.
  • Looks like it will come down to the final fixture against Curacao for Jamaica to clinch qualification.

Thought the Bermuda midfield triangle went missing in that game

They did beat England. On a matting wicket in the Netherlands but still, an appalling result for England.

Thinking this could become a thread to follow our Jamaican’s going forward?

Anderson, Dixon & TC all called up, no Bell obviously

According to the BBC Thursday 13th away to Trinidad and Tobago and at home to Curacao on Tuesday 19th (wed 1 am GMT). Need to win both to help them qualify for the world cup.
Bearing in mind the hurricane playing at home will have it's difficulties.

Their national stadium is fine. Apparently there was a Caribbean cup semi final played there last week.
