I didn't know they had Goodwin too. He's had a bit of a bizarre career since looking pretty good for Cheltenham.balham red said:
Starting over Will Goodwin too? The guy Oxford pipped us for a couple years ago, whose flopped since.MarcusH26 said:Really interesting that Mbick is starting over Samson Tovide already given the amount of hype that's been around Tovide in the past year.0 -
Absolutely brilliant second goal for Mbick11

Second goal for Mbick and it was a very good finish.

Not a first team fixture. He’s playing for their development XI in the Scottish Challenge Cup. Good to see him getting minutes and making an impact though, no other way to get into their first teamMasterbrew said:Zak Mitchell has scored for Hibernian in their Scottish Cup match1 -

A reminder that we got Mbick signed up on a new 3 year deal in the summer plus a 1 year club option.13

Quality. It's the kind of goal I can see us scoring with Leaburn.fenaddick said:Mbick second goal, what a take down and finish

Tbf acca is long gone, needed Grimsby and Bolton, Bolton being Bolton as per, useless side0 -
He looks transformed from the one paced, hesitant player I saw at the end of last season..3

Exactly why we should be patient with young players. What might look like a lack of ability may just be nerves or a lack of confidence.SantaClaus said:He looks transformed from the one paced, hesitant player I saw at the end of last season..
He's come a long way in a short space of time. A year ago I saw him on some of the u21 streams and although he was a good player at that level, his touch and hold up play was inconsistent, and he sometimes missed chances he should have scored due to a lack of composure. Since then he's been out injured for a while, impressed so much in training he came off the bench at Wembley, and has now become a regular starter and goal threat in L2.15 -

For their development squad loaned him to play a worse standard than our U21’sMasterbrew said:Zak Mitchell has scored for Hibernian in their Scottish Cup match0 -

Have to remember though it is League 2. I would expect any of our youth on the brink of the first team to standout in League 1, let alone League 2.SantaClaus said:He looks transformed from the one paced, hesitant player I saw at the end of last season..
Good to see Kanu, Mbick & Asiimwe showing some consistency. Hopefully it stays that way and Jones can take a good look at them next season in pre-season etc1 -

He’s only 18 though. Don’t think any of us were expecting him to hit the ground running like he has in his first real spell of league football. Very impressiveBraziliance said:

Watched a few of our loans today Kanu looked poor today and was subbed but then you had Mbick who tormented the Grimsby defence scored two and was MOM on sky sports looked twice the player that Kanu did .. the bits I saw of Aslimwe was impressive lot of good balls into the box ..2

A lot of our loans recently haven’t been great though and we haven’t pitched the players at the right level. There’s been a definite improvement which is great to seeBraziliance said:

Mbick is almost making himself too good for L2, especially a poor side like Colchester. It will be interesting what happens in January.0

The way our other strikers are going he may be in the first team squad by January.Scoham said:

Think Mbick is a huge prospect, and the bigger prospect than (the very likable) Dan Kanu.
For Micah to have that kind of physicality at 18 is rare enough, but he also knows how to use it.
His appearances last season were his first introduction to first-team football and were no indication of his ability. Just a case of him getting over his nerves. He is very exciting.7 -
I wonder if we recall Mbick in January and see if we can send him on loan to a L1 club. I know it’s not always the right decision to uproot a player but if Mbick carries on this form he arguably needs to be tested at a higher level0

He’s made a total of six league appearances at 18 years old. Why don’t we let him play through a season including the ups and downs before we crown him the next ten million pound man who will star in the premier league. We always get way ahead of ourselves when it comes to our youth. Let’s let him develop at a normal pace instead of setting unrealistic expectations28

Apart from the fact he’s made 13 league appearances and no one has said he’s a 10m pound player who will play in the PLBostonaddick said:He’s made a total of six league appearances at 18 years old. I wouldn't be recalling any of the loanees , unless they're barely playing. Keep them put for the whole season and see where things are in the summer in terms of development.
Although the Zach Mitchell one seems a bit concerning if he's only playing for their ressies and not making the bench for the first team
