Charlton played Southend this week in behind closed doors match the score was 3-3 .. can’t find any news on line ups or scorers … unless you sign up to a Southend local paper …

    Been trying to work out for ages who our player is in the white kit, only to realise of course that's a national league team from earlier in the season!

    I wonder who played for us, I imagine Mannion, JRC, Knibbs, Apter, Olaofe, Hernandez and Berry got some minutes, probably a trialist or two, then some youth

    That reads like even The Echo didn't get an invite, but that their reporter spoke to Maher afterwards and just dropped a few names that he'd mentioned.

    Wembley. Before last nights game. Fans got a 2 for 1 special. Hence why the atmosphere was muted for the England match as they had been royally alternated earlier 😄

    We only beat them when you know who plays.

    I’m pretty certain we would have played one in the September break also, and it didn’t get any mention anywhere, so I doubt we will get much more info

    #cafc boss Nathan Jones on the behind closed doors 3-3 draw against Southend United during the international break: "It was a mix of U21s and the first-team group. We finished with more first-team players on there. It was a wonderful runout.

    "I was really happy with the majority of our play. We conceded a few sloppy goals, which is a learning curve for those involved but some of our attacking play was wonderful. We should have scored considerably more if we had shown a clinical edge.

    "It was better than an in-house game. Everyone got minutes, pretty much, but it was just what volume

    Not sure Knibbs, Apter, Fullah, Gough, Mannion, JRC, Berry etc. need a rest, they've barely played any football at all. A first team and U21 blended XI could easily play a game against someone

    Absolutely. JRC needs the opposite of a rest!
