According to Colchester fans online Mbick is the best thing since sliced bread.
Young Lisbie appears to be performing well there too.

Surprised that Dixon has been on the bench for Crawley's last two League games, after a goal and an assist in the EFL Trophy the last time he started

Especially with them losing 4-0 last time
Sadly I don’t think he’s ever going to be Championship quality or even league one to be fair .
A 21 yo  with barely a year as a full timer, but has 20 caps and three goals for a country vying for a place in the next World Cup is not going to be good enough for the Championship? Have you even seen him play?

Has a slight build but plenty of skill.
Similar to JRS and it didn't do him any harm.

Yes and I stick by my original opinion .

There's a classic Ahadme moment in the attack that starts at 1:20, luckily for him Stevenage recycle the ball and he scores. He also gets an assist about 50 seconds in but the scorer was offside.

In the Charlton TV monthly show, Brownie mentioned that we only have one person monitoring all our loan players, which isn't ideal, especially as both Mitchells are a long way from London.

Don't think that's unusual. A lot of the actual watching can be done via Wyscout (although not ideal) and in A Mitchell's case when he is at games closer to London. Obviously it means it's travel intensive to actually visit the players and see how they are, I'm sure video calls help but it isn't the same. Hopefully SCP can lighten the load and report back to us on Kanu

He is so awkward on the ball.

We're lucky that the 600-800k or whatever we spent on him is no longer such a massive fee to us.

We do have a LOT of players out on loan though, way more than normal, with few being the short term local non league loans for youngsters.
7 out at EFL clubs, and Zach in Scotland.

Which makes us the second highest in the division which surprises me. I guess with 5/6 of them very close by and one of them in Bower probably still training with the U21's they are relatively easy maintenance. It's the Mitchell brothers and Kanu who cause issues distance wise but they're all senior enough players to hopefully need less support

Problem is if hes on something like 8k a week (with the promotion wage increase) thats 400k a year in wages so 1.2M over the next 3 years + the 750k fee paid so the total deal is gonna be over 2M. We need to find a club overseas willing to take him on a permanent because no L1 club is affording his wages to get him permanently.

Think id give Dixon at least a full season of L2 before writing off his future in English football.

Perfect striker movement there which is definitely something we haven’t seen from him here yet
Disagree think his movement and positioning in particular has been good, it’s when he gets the ball has been the issue when playing for us.

Hard to see any of our home grown players making it into the first team now we are in the Champ. Of the ones who currently are, the only one playing consistently at the moment is TC and half of CL want him dropped. Leaburn is unconvincing and Anderson has disappeared from the first team squad as has Fullah.
Asimwe, Zak Mitchell, Kanu seem a long way off. Mbick too soon to say, while Enslin, Laqueratabua and Rylah who were on the fringes last season are nowhere near.
The under 21s progress seems to be a casualty of our promotion.

Asiimwe has been statistically the 2nd best RB in league 1 this season, if nothing long-term materialises with Bree/Fukuda in Jan he could be competition for Apter next season.

Mbick arguably could get a chance feels like a player like TC or Karoy NJ will inexplicably love because of his play style, especially since none of our strikers have done anything so far and apparently according to Colchester fans his hold up play at 18 is brilliant which we don’t have in the squad Leaburn is a big striker but tries and plays like a winger Mbick would be our only forward who can play with his back to goal.

Think we should offer him a contract extension incase one of the Big 6 decided to make a swoop for him.

Tomorrow's fixtures, all EFL games on Sky at 3pm unless otherwise stated

Northampton v Rotherham (2pm for some reason)

    Wimbledon v Port Vale

    Crawley (minus Dixon) v Walsall

    Grimsby v Colchester

Braintree Town v Farnborough (FA Cup fourth round qualifer, Bower has been missing from all FA Cup games so far so expect the same)

On a separate note, tickets for that Farnborough game are £22. £22 for non league teams in FA Cup qualifying is mad

Taylor, Asiimwe, Kanu & Mbick all start as expected. Somewhat surprisingly Toby Bower also stays for Farnborough in their FA Cup game

Really interesting that Mbick is starting over Samson Tovide already given the amount of hype that's been around Tovide in the past year.
Starting over Will Goodwin too? The guy Oxford pipped us for a couple years ago, whose flopped since.

Colchester have given it to Kyreece Lisbie, Sky Sports still saying Mbick.
