Damage to overhead power around Warrington which is a bit worrying. We’re on the 10.30, are there other routes to Preston if other trains cancelled?0
-
Get as far north asap, suggest train to Manchester then either train or bus to Preston - good luck8
-
8.40 train showing as late rather than cancelled which gives some hope.0
-
9.30 is cancelled already0
-
10.30 cancelled as well. Seems the slow trains are running still.0

Not looking good for direct trains. I'm on the 0840 so hopefully be OK.
Some others leaving later are looking at going via Manchester. Will carry cancellation risks but it's an option as some trains seem to be running between Manc and Preston0 -
Our train cancelled (8.30) - jumped on train to Manchester (9.33) - trains from Manchester to Preston look fine and only 35 mins - the joys of Avanti !!!2

Reading these threads over the last couple of years, means that I wouldn't contemplate train travel for long distance away games.
All this chopping and changing to get cheaper routes, then seemingly endless cancellations and having to reroute. Very stressful.
I know why people no longer use them, but to me the coach is far more reliable, and a lot cheaper. Have the beers when the coach drops you off in SE London.
Anyway it's 30 degrees here in Denia, Spain and just bought the stream. Best of luck and well done to all of you making a Valiant effort. COYA!4 -
Looking at the live departure boards there seams to be trains running from Manchester Piccadilly ok. 1 or 2 cancelled. I guess get as far as you can and hope.0
