That blue shirt left me scarred…almost literally! Wore it when playing in a game with work at Fisher Athletic many, many years ago. It was a night of absolute torrential rain, which didn’t work very well with the polyester of the shirt. The first O in Woolwich and the C turned red as the wet shirt rubbed my nipples and left them bleeding!!  Bloody painful for days after 🫣😱😬😂
think you should sue the Woolwich for compo.

I think being able to use the Osca logo makes a big difference. Can't be helped but these just don't look great with a big empty space.

With these retro shirts, do they have to ask permission to use the sponsors logo?

As it happens, most of our former sponsors no longer exist, but someone may still own the logo. Barclays own The Woolwich for example.

Yeah these 2 look like temu knockoffs, 2 stripes instead of 3 is a bovvy market special.

Would be nice if they could properly restock this season's kits. Haven't seen the away or third shirts in adult sizes for months

I am glad you have mentioned that, I thought it was only me.  I didn't buy them when they came out last time because of this, I would have bought both home and away last time if they were the 'proper' retro.
For the life of me I do not know why the full amount of stripes are not used.

Adidas wouldn't be best pleased. Obviously doesn't stop knock offs like red robins retro doing it but not something the club would want to try.

They look quality, wonder if we reached out for a collab at all.
  • Picked up a blue the Woolwich shirt. Would prefer they stock the red ones again tbh.

They were in discussions with the club a while back, but presumably the club found they could do it cheaper without!

Ironically, Admiral actually make a lot of the merch for Barcelona, Madrid and other top teams- just as unbranded though

Other clubs produce the Adidas retro with the correct amount of stripes, so why can't we?  A shame.

The Admiral tops in the 70s and 80s were fantastic.  I still think the Coventry tops with Talbot as a sponsor were one of the best of all time.  I particularly liked the brown away top.

That West Ham 76-80 shirt is nice. The wording mentions Hammers legends like Bonds, Lampard and Brooking who wore the shirt, but the photo is of someone even more familiar to us!

Presumably Adidas are involved in that. I haven't checked but might be clubs that are currently supplied by them.

That isn't official Man Utd stuff and even if it was their current contract is Adidas anyway so the 3 stripes wouldn't be an issue

Adidas come down incredibly hard on anyone using the 3 stripes without their consent/knowledge

No you’ve completely missed the point. Man Utd could do it if they wanted because Adidas make their kits. We can’t because Reebok make ours, not Adidas

    Aha, thank you.
So then it comes down to a copyright issue, thus the lack of all the stripes?

Yes, which is what the club have done previously. I assume that's why we've also been reproducing kits with defunct sponsors (even if someone technically owns it as pointed out above. Barclays are highly unlikely to sue us for us of a logo they would never use anyway)
