Five ticket checks tonight (I thought the four we had at Bramall Lane was too many) and stewards seem to be attempting to enforce seating, despite how poorly these tickets were sold.
I can understand the calls for Kelman and/or TC to be dropped because, on paper, they look like they’ve been ineffective. But it’s a team game and a 90 minute game and the job they do allows Tanto and Leaburn to come on and make a difference.
Why change the winning formula?
TC has started to flag quite early recently so personally thought he might be rested but can also see why Jones would want to keep it as is.
Players do get rotated to bring in fresher legs too. We have another longish distance away game on Saturday, so not much turnaround time after tonight
I think Derby have a decent first 11. Morris, Agyemang and Brereton are very good. As I said on the preview really hoping for Kelman to get a goal and kick start his season.
Second half of last year we had a settled team - I’m all for doing the same this year - the players get paid well - if they have to sit on the bench for a bit, so be it - Tanto would know he wasn’t going to be a guaranteed starter
You can’t criticise NJ he gets selections right imo but in the words of Curbs I bet Tanto is hammering at his office door most days lol what’s the odds that when he does start he doesn’t produce and we are all screaming that he is a finisher lol
Surprised we've not changed a couple more players with it being Saturday/Tuesday, but hopefully brings continuity with the same players being in good form.
Interesting that Derby have the lowest touches in the opposition box, have the lowest Xg in the Division (Blurgh cant believe I quoted that), but have scored two more goals than us...
