  • Love watching Alcaraz . Seems a lovely person too.

I liked his post-match comment about how he's seen more of Sinner this year than he has of his own family.
  • Appreciate Sinner wasn't at the same standard as he was in the Wimbledon final, but Alcaraz is such a talent, these two could break so many records.

I'd like a third player to emerge to challenge them though - those two reaching every final.could make it samey!
I think the only ones who could get near these two are Ben Shelton and the Brazilian Lad.We thought Federer and Nadal would have it all their own way, then Djokovic came along and gatecrashed the party, same could happen here.

amazing that Raducanu has never beaten anyone that has won a slam
Her 'power game' has improved markedly this year. However, up against the 6 feet tall, fit as butcher's dogs East Europeans she (and the other 'young Brit females) is still a lightweight. She is still in there fighting and good luck to her

Am I dreaming it but didn't Emma beat Osaka recently?

But she is a multiple grand slam winner. Someone said she'd never beaten one before.

The doubles should be relatively straightforward. Have been saying for ages we need 2 of our top doubles players in the tie, as we have sop many - so good to see them there
  • So much for 'relatively straightforward' - they lost the doubles!

Then Cam won his reverse singles

  • Kartal beats no 14 seed Kasatkina in straight sets - played really well.

    Raducanu plays later...
  • Great win for Kartal against Kasatkina - Kartal was too strong for Kasatkina who appeared under par and faded

Good winner by Raducanu and spoke Mandarin in the post match interview.

Had to work hard as not at her best and Bucsa played her best

Has a live ranking of 30, but got a very hard draw as playing Pegula next

She's done really well this year - didn't expect this progress..
  • Kartal has to play Joint - not an easy game.

I always thought it was possible if she could improve her fitness and be less injury prone. My predicted was top 30 but maybe even top 20 in time - but she'd had to be consistent too(more) . I don't think she has any points to defend over the rest of the year, so hopefully can keep improving her ranking. Each improvement in ranking means she is less likely to face a top 10 player in the early round
