I've chatted with Wogoli a few times on Facebook - he's a lovely guy and very passionate about the club, top man.

Get a passport costs Uganda Shillings UGX 250,000 for normal applications or UGX 400,000 for Express applications thats £52.75.

A UK Standard Visitor visa for a tourist from Uganda costs £127 for a stay of up to 6 months. This fee is for a short-term visa and you must apply for it online before you travel to the UK.

Qatar Airways from Ethebbe return is £625

    9 days in travelodge Greenwich in 2026 :  £370.91

    Per diems £30 x 9 = £270

travel = £150 (train to an away, from airport, around london)

    Total = £1595.66

assuming Charlton would be generous enough to award Home and away tickets for the young man ....
    Doable. E.g. 500 people x £20 and 6 x £100 from big doners

I think the exercise may also be an eye opener re: UK visa processes  :)
Or the club stump up 100% for potentially the best value sm clicks they'll ever get.

Willington is 19yrs, so is I'm sure he's more than capable of coming  on his own. If club gets behind this trip this would help his visa application. One would hope CAST, Fans Advisers & Club would support getting  Willington to see the Addicks. To give a Crowd Funding & visa application validity it would be best via CAST or Club. This is a win win for the club to get behind making this young mans dream possible....I'm happy to donate £100 if an offical crowdfunding campaign is started.

We have some old Castore training kit in the museum.

If anyone knows his size happy to add some bits to any package being sent over.

    I will contribute too.
  • I think this needs CAST, Club or Fans Advisers to organise this for Willington. It will be better all round to do this offically to raise funds & help him with his visa, I imagine most clubs must use a visa service so can help?

Wogoli wants to register for the site so hopefully in time he will join us here.
He wants to come over for sure.

The proof of funds side of the visa application will look better if from an official organisation. Be interesting to see if the club have an ongoing relationship with a visa agency.... I remember there was the recent controversy of an owners girlfriend seemkngly working without a work visa.....
  • Are CAST or Fan Advisers going to speak to the club to see if it is possible to help this young man? I presume that CAST or Fans advisers read Charlton Life, it really needs an official organisation to set up funding and help him.

We’re definitely looking at what can be done, but have to be sensitive to the position Wogoli is in

Reminds me of Jessie(?) our Charlton mad Chinese fan. Didn't she have to delete her account on here in the end?
She was a really lovely person and very knowledgeable. Hope she is well.
