Leroy Ambrose said:I remember we almost missed out on him because we were penny pinching over the sale. Absolutely no question we wouldn't have gone up without him, or gone up again a couple of years later. The best, most consistent player I've ever seen for us. Absolute cadillac of a footballer. The complete midfielder.
If I'm not mistaken he was going to go to Gillingham.

...and yet I wouldn't have said goalscoring was his greatest strength, his game had so much more. I was really gutted when he left for Villa, and I cant think of another player whose departure upset me more.3 -
Exiled_Addick said:What an all-rounder he was. Tackled, ran and ran, created chances, scored goals from close and long range, took set pieces, leader. A poor man's Steven Gerrard and one of the most complete players I've seen play for us. Loved him.0

I remember when he scored the winner up at Newcastle, we were so far away from the pitch that you could only tell it was Stuart from his running style.2 -

Started the “heave-ho” which developed into the Tunnel Jump.0

Probably my favourite player ever, was worth two players on his own, and strangely a reason why I have a soft spot for Daniel Kanu’s Walsall.0

Because of when I started going, Paddy Powell will always be my favourite Charlton player but Kins is as close as anyone could be. So proud to have seen him play for Ireland quite a few times and a player who had the ability to take a game by the scruff of the neck and get us into it.
Need to get a Charlton Irish badge down to him ☘️2 -
Got 1905 tickets for this match so will be acting like a love sick teenager to get a photo with the man - a proper modern day legend.2

When we started the Supporters trust he was the first player to confirm he would come to the launch.and kept his word. For that alone I will always be grateful, (I think he also encouraged a few others to come, with help from the former players association) a great player and a true legend to me.4
