I think, at this stage, it would be wrong to say that Kelman is QPR's payback for Bonne. I think Kelman will get better.0

Look at Kelman last season at Orient. He scored a lot of very good goals. Bonne would never have got close to that even in a very decent Orient team. Kelman will step up I’ve no doubt.Happy Valley said:I think, at this stage, it would be wrong to say that Kelman is QPR's payback for Bonne. I think Kelman will get better.5 -
Love Sam Parkin's punditry as he usually seems clued up so annoying he got cut off before he could make a point about us!Scoham said:2 -

More chance of me getting a promote than Bonne ever improving imo...🤦♂️CaptainRobbo said:

It's true, with hard work, good coaching and a lot of luck Bonne may one day be considered merely very bad... instead of absolutely godawful.CaptainRobbo said:

Seen enough of Kelman to know he’s not a dud. Good movement and good first touch. Just needs that first goal to go in. Comparing him to Bonne is laughable.19

Many were saying similar things about Godden this time last year.NabySarr said:

not true imo. Joined the team slightly later in pre-season, one of many new faces, most of which have had to take a step up in the level they’re now competing at, and we’re 6 games in. He may not have shown much in the first 4, but in the last 2 games he has worked incredibly hard and put a shift in, and I would say is starting to settle. I would argue using terms like ‘no doubt’ is overly harsh and too final. For some of us, he hasn’t disappointedShootersHillGuru said:I think there’s a danger that Kelman falls into the Alfie May situation where he’s not the “team” player that Jones demands. Probably a learning curve for him to become the new Godden but there’s no doubt that Kelman has so far disappointed.
It’s obviously still early days and plenty of time tturn it around. But it’s definitely been disappointing4 -

Genuine question how many games does Kelman have before “he will come good” no longer applies. I can get why people are fans of his work rate but the concerning thing for me is that when Leaburn came on I thought it was his worse performance this season in terms of pressing and movement yet our goal comes from him beating two defenders in the air to flick the ball on we never score that goal if that’s Kelman there. Not a criticism on Kelman because it’s not his game but he clearly is struggling in this system without a creative 10 to play him in behind, same thing with Gassan last year where we gave him zero crosses. Is there any point we just accept we may have got it wrong with him or do we just keep persisting because he cost us 3M0

Kelman has 0 Championship goals in 29 appearances (730 minutes played). He’ll need at least 14 goals in his next 41 matches / 2810 minutes to match or better Bonne.
I agree with your point but if you take away the eye test and look at pure numbers, it’s not looking great for Charlie at this level.4 -
But that doesn't take into account the % of those games that were starts or where they played in their actual positions. Kelman got played on the wing at QPR at times and was coming on for small periods of time. Bonne has played 3,491 Championship minutes to Kelman's 682.Callumcafc said:

You've convinced me, sell Kelman and get Bonne back asap...😉Callumcafc said:

Very decent away numbers from us, first time seeing the official number

What I like seeing as well is how many groups of young fans and young adults that go Charlton away, the future is bright and it amazes me how that last decade didn't do as much damage as I thought it would.
It's mainly been terrible watching Charlton for anyone born in the year 2000 onwards so fair bloody play, proud.20 -
I noticed Kelman last season before he started scoring goals. He was very good against us at the Valley. I am wondering whether the 10 role might suit him.0

people were slagging Godden off .. why had we signed him at that age , why he replaced May .. only going to be a big part player etc etc Godden scored 2 in his first 14 apps ( not all were starts )0 -

The fans slagging off Kelman most likey the same who write of Reece Burke when we signed him .. complaining about another Luton player etc etc but there eating their words now and they will be with Kelman .. Even Godden would be struggling at the moment cause Campbell so badly of form and not creating a thing ..8

Agree with this. Plus 2000 for Sheff Utd given the distance is a great turnoutBraziliance said:Very decent away numbers from us, first time seeing the official number

I too am pleased some of the younger generation can now hopefully experience some success at a decent level. I was lucky enough to be 16-25 from 98/07, which meant I saw all of our time in the Prem at an age I could go pretty much every week, home and away
some of the dross the younger generations have had to put up with over the last 10 years, yet putting the hard miles in going to the likes of Shrewsbury, Northampton, Bristol Rovers etc (and losing to these sorts of teams), they deserve a few wins against bigger and better clubs7 -
Can't see anyone "Slagging off Kelman", just showing concern that he hasn't got on the scoresheet yet, nothing "Slagging off there"...🤦♂️RonnieMoore said:The fans slagging off Kelman most likey the same who write of Reece Burke when we signed him .. complaining about another Luton player etc etc but there eating their words now and they will be with Kelman .. He will come good as we will see...0 -
A bit early to be making any sort of judgment about Burke, good or bad. He has only played one game. I don't think anyone doubted his ability at this level. The doubt is whether his fitness will hold up. We can maybe judge that after three months. So far, so good.RonnieMoore said:The fans slagging off Kelman most likey the same who wrote off Reece Burke when we signed him .. complaining about another Luton player etc etc but there eating their words now and they will be with Kelman ...2 -
That's odd you moaning at fans for slagging off Kelman (don't see that) considering you slag off Campbell and Anderson all the time as shown in your post.RonnieMoore said:The fans slagging off Kelman most likey the same who write of Reece Burke when we signed him .. complaining about another Luton player etc etc but there eating their words now and they will be with Kelman .. Thanks Ronnie. I didn't realise Campbell is the only person allowed to create chances in this team... seems like a real flaw in the plan, no wonder we haven't scored many.RonnieMoore said:The fans slagging off Kelman most likey the same who write of Reece Burke when we signed him .. complaining about another Luton player etc etc but there eating their words now and they will be with Kelman .. On a serious note, you said the same last season, sticking up for Ahadme and blaming Campbell lol. Let's hope (and I'm pretty sure he won't) that Kelman doesn't turn out the way Ahadme did.3 -
where do you even start with this.RonnieMoore said:The fans slagging off Kelman most likey the same who write of Reece Burke when we signed him .. complaining about another Luton player etc etc but there eating their words now and they will be with Kelman .. Even Godden would be struggling at the moment cause Campbell so badly of form and not creating a thing ..1) Campbell has created more chances than anyone in the squad so far and is top 20 in championship.2) Burke is a championship/prem proven experienced injury prone cb, and Kelman is an inexperienced but talented upcoming striker if fans were to slag off our players you would assume it wouldn’t be the two players who could not be further apart in terms of career
3) wouldn’t say people are slagging off Kelman just a bit concerned he hasn’t scored if anything he is getting more support than you would expect considering the abuse TC gets5 -
is Campbell becoming your new Dobson/Blackett-Taylor. The new Irrational hatred for a talented player.RonnieMoore said:The fans slagging off Kelman most likey the same who write of Reece Burke when we signed him .. complaining about another Luton player etc etc but there eating their words now and they will be with Kelman .. Bonne was thrown in as a non league signing to cover injuries when he was originally signed as "possibly one for the future". I think he scored 11 goals that season (can't be bothered to check), I don't think he did too badly for a makeshift 2nd division striker. The fact that he swiftly became a cock can't overshadow that season.9 -
( OK I've done this one before but........) Pray tell Ronnie what do they write of this Reece Burke ?RonnieMoore said:The fans slagging off Kelman most likey the same who write of Reece Burke when we signed him .. complaining about another Luton player etc etc but there eating their words now and they will be with Kelman ..
