    Cheers
  • This is one of two away games grandson no 2 wants to do this season, Canaries on Boxing Day being the other.

I just hope we can get tickets for both as my loyalty points total is restricted to season tickets.

(My last away game - barring the pre-season friendly at King's Lynn a few years ago - was Carrow Road the last time we were in the same division as Norwich!)

Unless you can find someone to do you a favour I think you will be lucky to get tickets for either.
  • Ipswich will sell out I’m not sure a 3pm Boxing Day ko with no trains in Norwich will

Guaranteed sell out, will be surprised if it goes to a general sale.

I imagine the tickets will be around £35, along the side and have usually been expensive in the past.

    £43 this year I think!

     :o
F*** that, it'll go to general sale then.  I can see a lot giving it a miss with that price.

    Ipswich will be £38 adults, £29 over 65s, £22 U23s, £11 U19s as it’s a category B fixture. It’s safe standing.

    The lower tier seats are £34, £25, £21, £11 - think that’s a family section.

I have the same challenge. Season ticket holder with 10 year old grandson and live 10 minutes from Carrow Road. Hoping we can get tickets for Boxing Day as he is desperate to go 🤞

Make his last present to open an envelope.

There'll be a ticket in it I am sure.

That normally has been the case.

What’s the allocation at Ipswich? Sell out on a Tuesday night seems optimistic to me !

Based on what Southampton and Portsmouth got, the allocation is 2,000

There’s a train that gets back to Stratford at 23.48, and another an hour earlier, although that one is tight on the whistle.

right well yes we could just about sell that out, but would only be via general sale. I was imagining nearer to 3,000 allocation, which for a standard league game outside of London on a midweek evening would be pretty unprecedented for us - can't see how we bring more fans to this game than we did to to Bristol or even Sheff U...

it’s an hour from Dartford in a car. That’s how.
  • The away allocation increased for the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season as part of the Portman Road redevelopment works completed over the summer of 2024. There is now room for 3,000 away fans in the stand.

Around 800 Ipswich season ticket holders had their seats relocated as part of the restructuring. In the lower tier, seats were removed and replaced in the summer.

Mmm. I get that, but remain to be convinced! I hope I’m proved wrong and tbf our away support has achieved that a bit in the last year!

Think that was because PL rules meant they had to give 3,000 allocation. Now not in the PL it's been reduced to 2,000. At least that's what they are giving thus far, can't see why we'd be any different.

Maybe we should reduce our generous 3000+

Correct. PL rules are 3k minimum or 10% if the capacity is smaller than 30k.

Championship rules are 2k minimum or 10% if the capacity is smaller than 20k.

What a great idea, turn down a potential circa £30k per home game and have more empty seats - genius

Last time we played Ipswich away (6-0) scarred me for life.   Looking at the team that day, I am not surprised we got spanked (other than Dobson and Rak-Sakyi)

Luckily I am on holiday for this one.

Considering it was only 2.5 years ago it's crazy how bad we were. Of that starting XI:

    2 play in non-league
    3 are without a club
1 plays for the team rock bottom of the Scottish championship
1 is our 3rd choice keeper

We were seriously in the trenches!!

Crazy to think how some people on here referred to these players as well. Hector was a Rolls Royce defender and Fraser was a luxury!
