When you go to mention that Robert Redford has died and realise none of your colleagues around you would know who he is3

That’s a regular excuse for not knowing a subject on that programme and others. It’s just an excuse for being a bit ignorant or maybe a touch of brain fog.7ross1 said:While watching Tipping Point and a question about things happening 50 or 60 years ago and most contestants have never heard of it or themI wasn’t around, like most of us, for the Roman Empire but if that subject came up I would expect to be able to answer most questions, they do tend to make the questions answerable.Wrong thread but what really annoys me about that particular programme is the contestants praise and encouragement they give each other. I’d be well annoyed if someone got half a dozen of coins over that I had set up.2 -
I remember the Roman Empire at least you had decent roads and the trash carts knew where to stop.charltonkeston said:

We’ve got a new apprentice, talking to him the other day he told me he afraid of sharks, a bit of a random thought maybe. I told him he was ok living around this part of the world and in fact statistically he probably safe in most parts of the world. He then said ,”have you seen that old film about a shark, I know it’s really old but it’s apparently a classic. My mum told me it came out before she was born but is really good. I can’t remember the name of it, it’s really old. It’s about 50 years old but still good for its time.Obviously Jaws. I not only have to teach this young man all I know, which should take me up to tea break, I now think I’ll have to educate him on tact and how to not make people feel they are one foot near the grave.4

I would be happy to help anyone if they are not familiar with Flickr. It has been around 20+ years, so older than some of our first team 😁Arsenetatters said:You see a post about the Museum’s Flickr account and you have no idea what one is.You also don’t care what it is because you’re sick of being overtaken by technology and all the bollox that go with it.

Thanks but that makes me feel even older! Yesterday I took a parcel I needed to return and had my first ever QR code for postage sent to me from the company. Took it into the post office where I drew the short straw and got served by the miserable old bag who tuts if you don’t hurry up. I took ages trying to get the bloody square thing to stay in the middle of the screen. I mentioned this must be a new thing and she looked daggers at me. Apparently it’s been round a while 😬Tintin said:

both me and the wife, when we awoke this morning, had a need of the facilities. She just beat me to the upstairs loo, and although I was busting I couldn't face the ascent of Everest returning from the downstairs lavvy, so I hung around with me legs crossed until she had cleared the upstairs trap.sillav nitram said:When every staircase looks like Mt Everest and you look around for oxygen and Sherpas before ascending.2 -
Hit 35 today, pulled something in my upper back yesterday and can barely move, sharp pain between shoulder blades running up to the base of my neck.
Wife said it's life's way of greeting you into the run to retirement3 -
You can now afford to buy the entire huge box of football stickers that you use to see sitting on the newsagent counter while you begged your mum to buy you a single sticker packet.5

was preparing the Dog his dinner the other day and also making a cup of Coffee , for some reason i added a spoonful of Kenco to his food at the same time .5

Wait another 20-30 years you'll find new bits daily. At 35 you're still a young pup, your wife shouldn't be talking to you, she should be fighting you off.sam3110 said:Hit 35 today, pulled something in my upper back yesterday and can barely move, sharp pain between shoulder blades running up to the base of my neck.
