If Selles had stayed would have expected a win if Wilder comes back in, more likely a draw. No matter how good Wilder can be for them he has a lot of work to do in a week with two decent perm players having left + loans leaving and quite a few new players to get to know. A point is the best they can hope for imho, they really are terrible at the minute and need to steady their ship over the coming weeks.
Is this a problem for us as a fan base? 90% of people would love the chance to have a crack at a team that's lost five in a row. Fragile confidence. Get into them early. Play the percentages and beat a vulnerable team.
Not us. Probably lose to QPR cos they were stuffed the week before. Won't beat Millwall because we never do. Now it's a foregone conclusion that we'll lose to Sheff U next week. How about being a bit more positive and see that we're playing a team with 0 points this season.

It’s not an us thing it’s a them thing.
Sheff Utd’s defence has been all at sea every game so far this season they look like conceding 5 every game and conceding every time the opposition go forward. It reminded me of how we used to defend (or not) under Appleton.
This will be the first thing Wilder addresses and puts right overnight.

Er because that leads to hope which leads to disappointment which makes a bad weekend feel 10 times worse. We have no chance and even if we score first it won't be worth getting excited as losers is the role we are cast in for a fixture like this.
Start of the season, most of us would have taken a point away to Sheffield United, a few weeks later, we’re looking at the league table thinking we should beat them.
Now with a manager change, we’re thinking we’ll lose the match to a new manager bounce.
As Jimmy Greaves once said, footballs a funny old game.
(And for the record, I’d still take a point away).

Exactly this. Plus with Wilder back their fans will be well up for it as well. If Selles was there and we nicked the first goal, the atmosphere would be toxic.
Looking forward to getting back to a normal game with our away following 💪
You going boss?
Yes mate, you?
Yes mate, 5 of us going.
Message me later in week what pub you are heading pre-game and hopefully can join you
I'm up for this one with a Yorkshire-based Addick. We're having a pint or four around Kelham Island (about 7 mins away in a cab from the ground). Supposed to be a good area. Good to meet if you're in the vicinity.

It's a fantastic place for a beer. The Shakespeare, The Fat Cat and Kelham Island Tavern are must visits.
