We were led to believe the 3000 there today would not be so bad as they had restricted sales to season ticket holder with high points allocations. All that policing and inconvenience for these.
What I mainly take away from this is that anyone over the age of about 18 who is impressed by, fascinated with, or participating in this - on either side - is a tragic case of epic proportions.

Don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I was out quickly at the end through the gate by the Media Centre, amazed to see two mounted police by Ransom Walk, with WPC on one horse charging at the leaving crowd and shouting 'Get back'. Was able to exit along Harvey Gardens towards the 'appointed route' but dozens behind the Covered End walking towards Floyd Rd, presumably oblivious of 'publicised' exit route.

No the gate isn't used but it is right by the stairs that are used so Charlton fans would be walking by it. Millwall fans had no reason to walk that close towards it.

I think I've sussed it. The unexcitable Millwall chaps had clearly been told that was the way for the jacuzzi, gear and brasses Charlton had laid on for them to complete their day. So they casually and in an orderly fashion walked towards the gate, only to be confronted by three or four of our herberts making their way out via their appointed exit.
Clearly they had no choice but to storm the gate, burst through it and start laying into random kids and families. They didn't want to, of course, but they had no option.

Completely forgot about the Unite the Kingdom protest and got stuck in it on the Strand. Gave up and headed home from CX in the end.
20 or so 40/50 something Millwall were on the train playing up. They picked out a lone Arsenal fan sitting reading his programme and started throwing punches at him. Funnily enough when 5 or 6 blokes jumped in to defend him they all melted.

Yeah, I saw that as well. Don't know what prompted it, but it looked dangerous. Then they just rode off like nothing had happened.
The vast majority of people were heading in the direction of Floyd Road and Ransom Walk, clearly with no idea about the restrictions. No stewards or police telling people to go the other way. It was a mess.

The video of it is bloody embarrassing. Two stewards. A handful of Charlton fans. A couple of which acted like idiots. a bunch of Millwall, some of which were attacking one Charlton fan at the end. Just imagine if that gate separated our more up for it fans from them rather than the fans we have in the east stand.
