Ramsay, Nathan Jones and Leaburn threw that away for us.
Easily the best Charlton performance against Millwall in a very, very long time. Well on top for most of the game, especially the first half, should have made it count more at 1-0 up.
Cannot argue either of Ramsay’s yellows, especially the second, no idea what he was thinking. Just let the play go.
Nathan Jones panicked. Should have left Campbell or Apter on, absolutely no outlet, it was inevitable they’d score at that point. They couldn’t handle Campbell at all, he was brilliant, suicidal to substitute him.
Leaburn either isn’t interested, is lazy, or injured. Absolutely zero effort to close the initial attack down which led to their goal. I would be he’s off in January and that a deal is already done.
This.
I said earlier that the subs were all wrong. No pace left on the pitch & Leaburn still looks like his father, but without the heading ability.
So what were the right subs, and what was the guarantee that they were going to work? - Don't just say you'd replace Ramsay for Burke either, because Jones was on a booking as well, and was sensible enough not to get sent off
Fucking hell some of these comments about Leaburn are starting to piss me off as much as the policing fiasco. WTAF?
He looked well off the pace Prague, let’s be honest.
I’ll be honest. I have no idea what you and others are on about. He had far more presence and threat than Kelman, in the short time in which he replaced him. (Which is not to knock Kelman, who worked hard)
I may be wrong Prague, maybe I’ve missed something from him today. He was slow to close down from the front - watch their goal again, if he closes that down early, they don’t score there. I’m struggling to get past that.
Miles Leaburn entered the fray on 61 minutes. 13 mins later Ramsay gets sent off. In 13 mins Leaburn showed how good he was, after that we had to change shape and leave him up top on his own, he played 21 mins in that position with little or no support, they score on 88 mins and you are blaming the bloke who arguably has the hardest job on the field, in terms of ground he must cover, for the goal, fuck me I've heard it all now.
Can't understand the criticism of Leaburn today, he did well under tough circumstances after the sending off.
For me the only thing he did was the bit of skill on the touchline to set TC away. Apart from that.....for someone 6ft 6 he hardly wins any headers (mainly because he always seems to be behind the defender or jumps to soon / too late) and doesn't put himself about enough. But its all about opinions.
PWR: 1. Jones got selection wrong - Leaburn has to start against Cooper 2. ramsey cost us the game 3. someone Should have decked the fat fuxk in the East Stand

Casey was running on fumes from the 70th min. Had to be subbed off for fresh legs

I can see why Jones opted for Kelman. Cooper is a big lump who can’t turn. May have been better with Kelman + Leaburn.
My biggest complaint about Leaburn, is his decision making - He gets himself into good positions with the ball, but often chooses the wrong option.
There was a moment in the second half, where he got the ball around the edge of the six yard box, turned, and lost balance as he tried to shoot... Yet there was a team mate, yards away who I felt he could have laid the ball off to, who could have struck at goal first time.

Campbell had run his self in to the ground by that point, Leaburn was anything but lazy, a very strange view of things if you were at at the game.
Standard. Good solid performance, result should've been in the bag... my mate commented when he saw Bree coming on "hopefully he's coming on for Ramsay". Hindsight is a great thing.
The utterly predictable outcome reminded me of the resigned feeling I used to have in the Prem years after we played Man U each time, didn't do anything wrong lads but oh well, they are Man U / Millwall. Almost felt myself joining in with their "you'll never beat Millwall" chant
Ramsay was silly but he’s earned one given his play over the last year. Thought Jones could ill afford not to bring on all available subs, and the ones he brought on fell into the 9-0-0 last ditch defence tactics. Think we could have been a bit more positive and given the MF some extra legs. That said, we didn’t lose and onto the next one.
I was at the game and don’t get all the miserable negativity. We played well for 60 odd minutes and they exploited the red card. But let’s keep this in perspective - they had a much more experienced, expensive squad in this league. I totally disagree the negative comments about Kayne, Miles, Apter and NJ and we in the ground were positive about the effort by all the team.
We do lack a final ball, decent cross, good set pieces and creativity from our midfield, though Sonny and TC was brilliant today.
I would like to see better support and delivery to Charlie, but it will come. We now need to go get a result at Brammall Lane next week, but let’s keep positive.
If we finish 21st this season it will be a great season.
Leaburn showed moments of class when he received the ball with 4 players around him at times but I can also see where others are coming from. He looked knackered not long after coming on.
Also can't see how we can say the ref had a stinker. Apart from a trip on Coventry I think in the 1st half, he was spot on throughout the game and mostly in our favour.
Worst tackle of match was scorer on Carey on 85 that didnt get a card, nor did any of Leonards multiple attempts to play the man not the ball. I thought their guy was preventing Ramsay getting up and foul could have gone other way. Perhaps Rambo was frustrated.
Kelman and TC doesn't work, we need a hold-up man alongside either one.
Can somebody post Doc's stats? He doesn't do it for me.
I was on the half way line with an uninterrupted view and yet I seemed to have completely missed Leaburn being lazy, uninterested or injured. I thought he gave 100%.
100% agree with those comments - they must be watching a different game. I would like to see us play Miles and Charlie together.
Deserved the win but red card killed us. Ref was a stinker. I really liked the look of Bree. If we can keep squad fit I genuinely think we’ll click and put a good run together.
Great to see that Ivanovic looks to have downed tools for Spanners. I think much like Wycombe with Kone, they’ll regret not selling him when he wanted to leave. I think it’ll cost them millions
Funny, I felt the ref was pretty good actually, wasn't getting drawn into all the falling over tactics of "The Mob" from SE16, can't say their name...
I agree. The only thing he got wrong was he had a card "spree" just after he booked their no 4 for a dirty foul on TC. He then booked Jones & Ramsey....with Ramsey's tackle not that bad from what I could see sitting in the AC Stand. That 5 minute card waving did us in the end.
Wonder whats going in with Knibbs. Reading have fallen apart without him but he barely gets a look in. Lack of pre-season surely no longer an excuse. Feel he would make a difference to the creativity in midfield.

Yep - thought we got all the 50/50s in all honesty

No good controlling games if we can't win them.

Got a bit lively at the station Police told me - we went to the Oak post match, so swerved all that
They really are wanky ‘fans’ are they not 🙄

Like the Leicester team the other week whose squad value was over £165m. Ours is nowhere near that.
