Rumour is they went out the Bartram Gate, bloody idiots whoever allowed this nonsense
It’s why they’re so disliked. Just bullies, threatening mainly families with kids and OAPs that use that exit. This is some of their highest points group, not their day outers. They’ve deliberately gone the opposite way to their exit to try and get at people they know are not like minded for a bully up. I just don’t get it.
They were trying to climb over the gate when I went past with my kids, so had a fair idea what was going to happen. Why Charlton thought it was a good idea to put just one wet blanket steward there I’ll never know
They let everyone through Ransom Walk after a few minutes too in the end, mainly because as they were too busy arguing with supporters trying to get through with elderly and disabled, a bunch of yoof snuck into the garden behind the stall and jumped the wall
could they not have done what they used to do. Both sets of fans meet on Floyd road. Horses in the middle, separating fans. A few minor scuffles. Then the police line becomes non existent so we all join up at the top of the road and we all go on our jolly way. Few issues but no major problems.
Was surprised at how few stewards and police were inside the ground tbh. From the west stand we saw a Millwall fan in the Curbs stand who celebrated their goal, got a bit of a kicking but not a steward to be seen.
The stewards from the Jimmy Seed had to come over and take him out.
Honestly given the sheer amount of plod about today they could have just let everyone out and kept a massive presence around the station and on Floyd Road, and they would have handled it so much better. Instead I stopped with my parents for a coffee in Costa down by the retail park and watched as 40 rozzers in full gear jogged up the road towards the R.O.D cos some lemons had slipped the station kettling and were looking for a scrap further afield. One of them stacked it and caught a boot from his mate on the ankle, another one dropped his helmet and had to stop and stand there like a dipstick waiting to retrieve it from the traffic, and then to cap it off 7 police vans came steaming down, and in the end they were all standing about with nothing to do cos the scum moved on.
Well that went to plan, just two stewards on the gate between Jimmy Seed stand and East Stand. Punches thrown between the fence, stuff thrown by both fans. Then Millwall fans forced the gate and a few fights broke up going up the steps as I was exiting. One Charlton fan shouted "this is a family stand" which strangely calmed things. All the planning, about giving Millwall priority exiting the ground, and they literally left the gate open between both sets of supporters. There should have been more stewards and police on this section of the stadium to stop this flash point.
Same as the above, almost felt like the police fancied a bit of agro themselves today. Trying to drive 7 vans through the place you’ve lined the Charlton fans up was moronic.

Perhaps it was the end of their shift and they were going for a pint?

All too busy arguing with people in wheelchairs and on crutches that they need to go the long way or wait half an hour for them to reopen Floyd Road!
Spoke to one of the directors about this who said that it was out of the club's hands and a police decision they weren't happy about.
Police rationale was if the Spanners were kept in they'd smash the place up and/or fight the old bill.
In case you want to let the crowd go the museum will be open after the game.
So all other home fans in the Championship have to do this when Millwall visit ? Don't recall seeing it in the media over the past few years that Millwall fans have smashed up stadiums.

Mate this is a local derby that’s not been played for years ..
mate, it isn’t the 70’s or 80’s, or even the 90’s or the 00’s. It’s 2025. Seriously, we’re not going to smash the ground up 😆
Yeah but for Millwall fans it's still 1976 so you can understand our concern.
All jokes aside, there’s people on here who have called it, the vast majority of away fans there will be season ticket holders who have the required number of loyalty points. This won’t be like the old rent a mob crowd who would turn out for big games when tickets are readily available. I’m not saying there won’t be trouble, some isolated incidents, but grounds getting smashed up? Calm down my dear, it ain’t gonna happen 😆
In 2019 Charlton fans smashed up the toilets at Gillingham. If that happened only 6 years ago (and lawlessness has only got worse post COVID) I guarantee you there will be breakages by Millwall at our ground tomorrow.
It’s just the view of one Millwall fan on this forum who is protesting it does not happen anymore. £10 goes to the upbeats if there is no damage to the ground by Millwall tomorrow.

Question. Why were you there to witness that and not walk down Harvey Gardens as requested? I exited the West Stand and it was clear you couldn’t use the normal gate by the shop.
Lets face it many deliberately went the wrong’ way and of course some didn’t know because of the poor comms by the club.
Plus a box full of Millwall fans right behind me. It got nasty when they scored, but no steward support or police came.
And when they went through the gate to confront Charlton supporters exiting the Curbs stand, barely a steward and again no police.
Plenty of police standing in front of the police box doing nothing though.
I was four rows in front of that box. A load of aggressive wankers giving it the big un to the hardcore ultras of Curbs E block. How the hell is that allowed to happen?

Perhaps they were in a wheelchair, on crutches or accompanying those who were?

Fucking idiots.
Totally ridiculous from the Met.
Pathetic comms from the club

Has to be a better solution next year.
