Wouldn't be surprised if they leave barriers down and make everyone take the dreaded bridge of doom0

So all other home fans in the Championship have to do this when Millwall visit ? Don't recall seeing it in the media over the past few years that Millwall fans have smashed up stadiums.Henry Irving said:Spoke to one of the directors about this who said that it was out of the club's hands and a police decision they weren't happy about.
Police rationale was if the Spanners were kept in they'd smash the place up and/or fight the old bill.
In case you want to let the crowd go the museum will be open after the game.
As well as that you can bet your life when the spanners were at Elland Road last season, and others, that THEY were kept in the ground whilst the home fans left the ground.

.....will they allow everyone to walk through Hickin and Gallon? Barney Close gonna be closed or everyone would just outflank road block by the Anti1

There are trains running via Blackheath, but not via Greenwich (bus replacement service).SteveACS said:
If there are no trains, what's to marshall?Off_it said:On a serious point, someone needs to make sure the level crossing is properly marshalled/policed. I seem to remember last time this happened that the coppers on the ground didn't even know there was a level crossing down the road they were telling everyone to go down!0 -

The club in their wisdom have decided to tuck this information away at the end of their many articles they have published on the website today.southamptonaddick said:Why are some people blaming the club.
We've been told it's a police decision and they have the final say.
It seems some so called Charlton "fans" just can't wait to have a dig.
Nobody is happy about it but if the police decide that's what is going to happen the club can do fuck all about it.
What Millwall have done by publishing this is the correct way of letting their fans know
No reason why they haven’t done this so far.You can bet there will be much confusion afterwards with fans not having a clue that has been put in place9 -

Obviously I wasn't in the safety meeting and I'm guessing you weren't either.guinnessaddick said:
Because they have allowed this decision to be made. There isn't another club in the country that would allow this to happen to their home fans. This will be the second time that it's happened to us and you can bet your bottom dollar it won't be the last. Grow some fucking balls and keep them in, the club could always lose the keys to the gates.southamptonaddick said:Why are some people blaming the club.

So, and I'm making a wild assumption, despite any protests the club may have made, they were told what was going to happen and that was that.
If any other club in the country are given instructions on how the crowd will be controlled outside of the ground then they would have to comply.
The police will always have the final say.3 -
This is one game where old bill have to earn their money.Normally, fans are mingling without incident, now there could be problems and they have not got a clue.Instead of just standing about chatting they "may" have something to do,and dont like it.0

Would love to know what power the club have on the roads around Charlton that means they could have stopped the police doing this?0

Think the point is - whenever something goes wrong, the club getting it both barrels from the fans regardless whether they're at fault or not 🤷♂️Off_it said:

So if Harvey Gardens and Floyd road are closed at 11.30, how do you get into the covered end and west stand after 11.30?2

Well, even if the final decision was the OBs, the clubs comms and timings have hardly been the best, have they?Gribbo said:

To continue,if any Millwall fans are intent on causing problems, why not by pass the station continue to the Antigallican and "ambush " The held Charlton fans. This is a different era,yes there will be a small minority who fancy themselves as throwbacks to the nutters of 30-40 years ago,but by and large they will just be gobby kids who will run a mile from a fight.
Another thing,if I was a criminal of any sort,I would certainly look to make hay tomorrow as the entire police force of S.E. England will be at football matches or demonstrations.

All jokes aside, there’s people on here who have called it, the vast majority of away fans there will be season ticket holders who have the required number of loyalty points. This won’t be like the old rent a mob crowd who would turn out for big games when tickets are readily available. I’m not saying there won’t be trouble, some isolated incidents, but grounds getting smashed up? Calm down my dear, it ain’t gonna happen 😆AllHailTheHen said:

And once the Police have made the decision, the club then should make this known as widely as possible. Say it clearly and loudly who made this call, and supporters know exactly what they need to do after the game (not all are on SM and Forums).southamptonaddick said:
