It's annoying, muggy from the club but it is what it is.
Makes sense to get millwall out and away from the area and a tiny train station with plenty of potential flash points on a day the police are stretched with loads of London derbies and non football stuff.
Annoying and inconvenient and spineless from the club but that's the reality.
They've taken a pragmatic view even if it's not fair and not right.
They've not done it to mug off charlton fans.

Used to use the mounted to divide the roads so both sets could use. I’m guessing the mounted are all up town dealing with the weekly nonsense by the great unwashed. Blame them not the old bill, only so many of them to police all the football/protests that is happening in the capital on Saturday.
I wonder when the Fans Advisory Board and CAST knew about this. A while ago I am certain.

I remember a few years ago, us being held back to allow the Millwall fans to leave first, so not the first time we've been the ones inconvenienced at The Valley.
I can't imagine the same thing happening to the home fans at any other local derby.3 -

Your second para is key. We can understand that Charlton Station presents challenges. But not unique ones. Whatever the club, the trust or supporters say, once The Met say this is what will happen along with Greenwich Council ... the fans and clubs views are worth diddly squat.

In any rate, if I am wrong no doubt they are used to being kept in from times gone by so it will not be much of a problem.Keep them in for 45 minutes and in that time the vast majority of the surrounding area will be empty AND into the bargain hopefully the spanners will be able to get on their trains back home more easier and quicker.As far as I am concerned what they are doing now creates MORE problems.1 -

Not all Millwall fans live in SE13. Are you going to insist they all go to the Den first to get on the coaches? It just creates more flashpoints and more policing.
I may not agree with any of it but I can see why they have made the decision.
But to use it as an excuse for losing the game……..ffs, have a word with yourselves. It’s like really believing that your lucky shirt which is still in the wash so you can’t wear it will be the reason we roll over again 🙄1 -
most people that are involved in rucking at football will likely be getting up town as quick as possible, the only people affected are Charlton fans as per usual, although bit of perspective its easier to get 3000 people out of an area quicker than 20,000 who are probably going to be better behaved.2
