  • Parachute system is one of the reasons why I will never see CAFC a top flight team again in my lifetime.
Ipswich and Luton have both been promoted to the Premier League in the past couple of seasons without parachute payments

Same with Sunderland last year, whilst two other Play-Off teams: Coventry, Bristol City didnt have them either

Personally think Wrexham have had a great transfer window, arguably the best in the league.

We would all love to be in their position with spending surely, I know I would.
A net spend 3x higher than 2nd highest. That isn't a great transfer window, that's sheer indulgence
Not sure I'd be trusting Phil Parkinson with £35m personally....
led them to back to back to back promotions. I’m sure they trust him more than enough
Can't see him lasting the season , they'll get itchy feet if they aren't top half at Christmas.
  • Tom McIntyre joins Bradford on loan , but they failed to sign Dobson from Wrexham in time
This is some of your greatest work. In awe
  • It will make it all the funnier when they fail 🤷
They best Millwall at the Den 2-0.

Want to put money on us doing the same there ?

Southampton showing how fucked the parachute system is, got absolutely rogered all season last time out, spent the most, sold the most, net spend is the "best" in the league, so essentially can try and throw money at it and go again safe in the knowledge that the coffers are fine for several seasons
To be fair, they’ve brought in over £100m in sales fees

Sunderland owned by the one of the richest men under 30 on planet earth and Ipswich bought by owners who had a fund of $13bn & $700m in available capital, their first act as owners was to wipe out £100m in debt. Bristol City owned by Steve Lansdown of Hargreaves and Lansdown ( they don't invest directly on the pitch as much but have invested huge over the last 10 years in Bristol sport)

Coventry & Luton more comparable to us, Coventry are where they are because of either luck or smart player trading (Gyokeres) which leaves Luton where a certain individual allowed them to build a squad where the group was able to achieve a lot more than the sum of it's parts.
Yeah I get they had money, but it doesnt shy away from the fact that its not impossible to get promoted from the Championship without Parachute Payments... I mean Sheffield United (who will recover), arent exactly doing great even with them now.
  • I think this pretty much confirms he is on his way out of Millwall.

    Aged well 😉

Yeah that's what I meant, they have basically been able to sell players for loads, and then buy players for loads too, but they'll still make a profit because whilst they've "lost the Prem money" they'll still get parachute payments on top of the 70m they've made on player sales.
