You say that, over the summer they’ve got 21 players out the door (14 gone, 7 on loans) and have brought in 13. So they’ve reduced their squad quite significantly.killerandflash said:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025–26_Wrexham_A.F.C._season#In

What they have done is bring in real quality, Regardless of how they fund it, they are not just striving for survival as their goal.2

Personally think Wrexham have had a great transfer window, arguably the best in the league.
We would all love to be in their position with spending surely, I know I would.4

Super signing for Frank Jnr .. Swich have now sold both Woolfenden and Burgess, their defensive mainstays for the past few seasons .. i m o both are better defenders then O'Shea and Greaves their replacementsDyerConsequences said:Luke Woolfenden has left Ipswich to sign for Coventry for an undisclosed fee.
Either Woolfenden or Burgess would have suited us 100%, now both have gone to good Championship clubs0

 Nice work, though that West Brom figure is wrong. They've brought in way more money than they've spent.Crispywood said:Championship Signings Birmingham 14 Sheffield United 14 Wrexham 13 Hull 13 Derby 13 Norwich 12 Preston 12 Ipswich 11 Middlesborough 11 Millwall 11 Watford 11 Portsmouth 11 Charlton 10 QPR 10 Stoke 10 Blackburn 9 Swansea 9 Southampton 9 West Brom 9 Oxford 7 Bristol City 5 Coventry 4 Leicester 4 Sheffield Wednesday 2 Championship Money Spent (add-ons hit) Southampton 55M Ipswich 51.5M Wrexham 38M Sheffield United 30M Norwich 23M Middlesborough 23M Birmingham 16M Swansea 15M Derby 14M West Brom 13M Millwall 12M Charlton 10.75M QPR 9.75M Blackburn 8.75M Stoke 8.5M Coventry 8M Watford 6M Portsmouth 6M Oxford 4M Preston 2M Bristol City 1.5M Hull 250k Leicester 0M Sheffield Wednesday 0M Championship Money Received (add-ons hit) Southampton 120M Ipswich 89M Leicester 50M Norwich 42M Middlesborough 28M West Brom 24.5M Sheffield United 23.5M Millwall 18M Blackburn 12.25M Watford 11M Coventry 9M Birmingham 8.5M Hull 7.5M Stoke 7.25M Sheffield Wednesday 4.25M QPR 3.5M Bristol City 2.25M Swansea 1.75M Preston 1.5M Oxford 1M Portsmouth 1M Derby 500k Charlton 200k Wrexham 0M Championship Net Spend Wrexham 38M Swansea 13.75M Derby 13.5M West Brom 11.5M Charlton 10.5M Birmingham 7.5M QPR 6.75M Sheffield United 6.5M Portsmouth 5M Oxford 3M Preston 500k Bristol City -750k Coventry -1M Stoke -1.25M Blackburn -3.75M Sheffield Wednesday -4.3M Watford -5M Middlesborough -5M Millwall -6M Hull -7.25M Norwich -19M Ipswich -37.5M Leicester -50M Southampton -65M Charlton Summary Signings 13th (joint 3 teams) Money Spent 12th Money Received 23rd Net Spend 5th Wages and Loan fees not included
Indeed the number of club who have negative net transfer spend is surprising, with late sales and money not being spent. Many of those late sales being to Wrexham.0

Agree, going to be interesting to see how their season plays out. I get that he’s never really impressed at this level, but until now he’s mostly had small budgets, and he’s a lot more experienced now. I wouldn’t write off him doing ok, but then how much is that down to his management, how much having a few top Championship players to carry the team?MarcusH26 said:

The Wrexham financials are going to be fascinating this season, as that's a ludicrous sum of money to be spending in a summer. It's not as if their commercial income this season will be massively bigger than last season, as it was already really high, and with the Kop end being empty, their gate income will be lower unless they really jack up their prices.Leuth said:

Other than Callum Doyle who is young and could improve, I can't see the rest of their signings being the type of player who will leap in value either, as they've already paid a full price.1

Will try and put together a final summary tonight or tomrrow morning. I didn't have time last night with updating the thread with the incomings, and had to be up at 6am this morning.
Will then follow up with the analysis in a couple of days for those interested.1

Southampton showing how fucked the parachute system is, got absolutely rogered all season last time out, spent the most, sold the most, net spend is the "best" in the league, so essentially can try and throw money at it and go again safe in the knowledge that the coffers are fine for several seasons7
-
Parachute system is one of the reasons why I will never see CAFC a top flight team again in my lifetime.2
