I find these cheese puns a bit grating.To_Be_Franck said:All these cheese puns have left me in a bit of a pickle0 -
Anyone got any Mbappe puns?RC_CAFC said:This forum really does have a habit of creating self fulfilling prophecies. First we put so many pictures of Appleton’s ugly mug on here it drew him to us and now finally all the incessant cheese puns have finally brought a signing4 -
Just under 4 hours until the transfer windows SLAMS SHUT !!!1

I guess the flipside is if he's that good and we want him enough we could still buy him in January. Plus Saints don't want him and he's out of contract at the end of the season so I doubt they're putting any pressure on about game timefenaddick said:
Think we have probably been after him for a while, Southampton have tried to sell but have had no luck so we can get a loan done. Concerning that if he performs we could lose him in January but that's the risk you take with loansForeverAddickted said:
Might also be easier to agree a loan move today of all days, rather than haggle over feesfenaddick said:Surprised it's a loan but fine with it given he's out of contract in the summer2 -
I've heard Bree is a bit soft.1

Curds told NJ he'd be a bigod signing, someone in the right vein who plays hard, is krafty and spreads the play well.... think NJ said he'd feta go get him then..... before this joke gets milked any more.....0

Feels strange knowing there’s under 4 hours to go, rather than it slamming shut at 11pm.
No rumours yet of any loans out. Would like to see Rylah or Enslin go on loan and get regular senior football.4 -
Possibly a trifle unfair on TC, but Apter and Bree starting, with Tupac coming off the bench for twenty minutes to run at tiring defences, might work. We do need to try different alternatives, as we’re becoming too predictable, which is dangerous at this level.MrBurns said:
I think TC will be dropped for next few games. These players have to earn the right to be play every game.Covered_End_Lad said:As others have said I can't imagine a player like Bree in his mid-20's who started that many premier league games last season coming in as RWB cover for Charlton. He will expect to start and begs the question where does Apter move to? We cannot drop Apter, has been far and away the best of the new recruits so far, perhaps he moves into the TC role?2 -
Bree to Charlton has a certain Gloucester it.5

Which is why I'd prefer Ward who, according to reports, has played 3 league games this season.NabySarr said:
He picked up an injury in pre-season, should be back fit this monthmendonca said:I don’t think Bree has featured for Southampton at all this season. He wasn't named on the bench for the League Cup games either by the looks of it.
Havent we learnt from the past. This season it's been Knibbs, Kelman & Burke who haven't been match fit. Last season Godden didn't start the season as he wasnt fit. And we can go back to Ben Reeves too.

Feels a little weird not being so short that we have to bring 5 panic loans in on deadline day.
Watson, Watson, Abwankwah and Tedic.
McGeady, Davis, Andre Green
We should feel grateful.7 -
Just walked past a blown up cheese factory…
How did I know it was a cheese factory?
De Bree was everywhere9 -

We don’t desperately need this signing to go straight into the team, so I’d rather the better player than the player that’s fit.golfaddick said:

Fofana going to Preston instead makes sense seeing we have so many strikers, they can guarantee more minutes3

They can probably pay more of his wages tooTantosonfire_se7 said:Fofana going to Preston instead makes sense seeing we have so many strikers, they can guarantee more minutes1 -
It's also nice going into the final day having all our loan spaces free, so we're not in the situation of having 6 loans, and needing to leave 1 out every game.haff5 said:Feels a little weird not being so short that we have to bring 5 panic loans in on deadline day.

Why take on a player who is unfit?NabySarr said:
Bree isn’t fit so there won’t be any change in the short term.Covered_End_Lad said:As others have said I can't imagine a player like Bree in his mid-20's who started that many premier league games last season coming in as RWB cover for Charlton. He will expect to start and begs the question where does Apter move to? We cannot drop Apter, has been far and away the best of the new recruits so far, perhaps he moves into the TC role?I think it’s great that we have so many options, could easily move to something like this:
Kaminski
Ramsay Jones Bell
Bree Docherty Coventry. Edwards
Apter Carey
Leaburn
Quite defensive but good to have that option, with the usual Apter wing back for the games we want to attack more
It's what we are good at.

Cawley:#cafc are working on a deal for Southampton's James Bree.Worked with Nathan Jones at Luton Town and the Saints. If no last-ditch hurdles then Bree set to be 10th signing of the summer transfer window.21

I thought he raced for AlphaTauri?up_the_valley said:

Loan for Bree seems like great business if he only has a year left.1
