Or Walsall, in his defence .

Apparently Bolton are back in for him, come from Alan Nixon though

We play 4 league games and Stevenage before the international break and then there's 2 weeks off before Millwall on 13 September. Hopefully he can be back for that.
  • If Godden is out for a few weeks, that brings us into September.
He's then got to get match fit.
I reckon he won't feature until October if we're lucky.

We certainly do, and in the meantime maybe need to adjust our forward play whilst he's not in the team... We're too used to having Campbell playing wide, with Godden operating as the lone man in the middle... We're almost trying to get Kelman and Leaburn to play the Godden role, whereas we need to possibly adjust to play those two in THEIR best roles.

Is Campbell also suffering because he's trying to play his normal way, but we don't have Godden in the middle so they cant predict each others movement, like what we saw worked well last season.

  • Really not sure Godden will make much of a difference at this level.

Sadly agree. He's never been prolific in the Champ. He scored 8 and 6 in his last two seasons, and he's also now 34 years old.

It's natural that we look to the injured players when we're in a tough spell, but I don't think he's going to be the answer this season.

Bloke at work’s mate works in the sports science team.

He said this morning that he expects him to be back in the side by late September.
  • Cawley said NJ mentioned on Thursday that Godden was “back on the grass”, but made the point that doesn’t mean he’s back in full training. So late September makes sense.

That not the problem is getting the ball to our striker that’s the problem better service , better final ball to feet or into the channels like we saw Kelman on Saturday when he was brought down or Godden and Kelman will struggle ..

Striker only has good as the service they get ..  he could be 40 but if he was getting 5 chances a game he would still score 2
  • There were opportunities against Leicester, if godden was on the pitch he'd have taken them.... 34 years old of not.

The Lee Bowyer Jamie Stuart Charlton rehab plan.
  • I heard that after his operation it would be a minimum of six weeks before he is back in full training. So a few weeks to go yet.
