Subbed on at HT and booked as Jamaica beat Guadeloupe 2-1 in the Gold Cup.

Kaheim also got a handful of minutes, but nothing again for Tyreece who remained an unused sub.

Jamaica have to beat Panama in their final group match, as they're tied on points with Guatemala (who lost 1-0 to Panama), but have Guadeloupe in their last match.

Looked like he made a few good challenges from the highlights, more experience in the bag.

Lets hope bailey et al dont rate these guys and report back to their prem clubs!

I don’t think we need to worry about any of them being bought by prem clubs just yet

Well Jamaica's 2-0 down to Panama after 20 minutes, but the Charlton boys are all on the bench so none of them are going to be getting the blame for that. Hopefully they can make a positive contribution in the second half.

Jamaica were a shambles defensively in both games I saw. In the last game Karoy came on and added seemed bring some coherence to their play. The commentators here were very positive on his impact. I really expected him to start. To get no minutes after the impact he had in the last game makes me question the coach.

Steve McClaren doing Steve McClaren things, shame for the guys but the one positive is TC, Anderson and Dixon will be coming back early with no injuries

Included in the Jamaica “Road to 2026 Watchlist” along with Bell, Dixon and TC

    Coach Steve McClaren:

“These are the players we are following closely with the 3rd Round of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers set to kick off shortly..."

Came on as a sub last night, thought this paragraph was interesting as we don't see calm Karoy very often.

Karoy Anderson - I often question what the purpose of Karoy Anderson is, but this time he settled down our midfield during a period where we were getting run through. I still don’t think he did anything that spectacular, but the simple stuff is exactly what we needed this time.

  • I know I’m in the minority here but I think he needs a l1 loan. I don’t think he is ready for championship football and half a season starting every game will do him the world of good. He has showed glimpses that he can be very good but is very inconsistent. A loan will turn the boy into a man

He’s in that difficult position that Kanu was in L1, too good to loan out as we need the squad depth, not consistent enough to regularly start.

I’m still hoping it clicks for him at some point and he surprises people. A loan isn’t always needed, there were doubts about players such as Solly when he first got involved in the first team. He got through it and became a regular starter.

And as you may expect it was a tease to his new contract, running until 2028

I think his role is to come on and bring energy to the side which is valid in this division.

I don’t think he was even suspended last weekend as his red was a second yellow

Still don’t see Anderson starting many games if any  in the championship …

Good to see another young player signed up longer term before they properly break through - although he’s far from new to the first team, he’s new to the Championship.

We’ll get injuries and suspensions, and young players can improve. Docherty’s spot is the one that suits Anderson the most longer term, I wouldn’t rule out him putting up a good challenge for it when he gets his chance. Not many saw TC being a regular in a promotion team.

Has he played much so far this season? Don't recall him making much of an appearance in the League game. Cup obviously.

Good news but would've hoped for an option to 2029.

So far, when at the stage of the game where we have been making subs, we've been mostly looking for a goal. I suspect we'll see Anderson the most, off the bench, when we have a lead and we are mainly looking to maintain that lead, not to add to it. Saturday was maybe the only time that might have applied, but the 10-man situation meant it wasn't a normal opportunity to bring him on.

Reality is, if that is how he is mostly used, then we will likely see less of him this season than last season, unless he can oust one of the other midfielders from the starting XI. He's not at that level right now, but if he keeps training hard and working at his game he could be by the end of the season.

His new contract just reiterates how much NJ rates him, and he ticks so many of the boxes that NJ prioritizes in a midfielder.
