I read that as a CB and a WB.
Maybe there is truth in the Norwich (?) CB linked in a random tweet the other day?5 -
He's spot on tbf. Mirrors most of the moans on tonight's match thread!Callumcafc said:

After tonight's debacle I wouldn't trust NJ to run a wheel stall.CB1 said:

Based on the season so far, I think we need a CB, wingback cover and another attacking player. We are heavily relying on players who have never played Championship level before, and whilst defensively, I think we have been spot on so far, we are as Jones says one injury away from distaster at the back.
going forward an experienced championship goal getter would be welcomed in my opinion1 -
Need a RCB cover, Gillesphey can do the left hand side.
Then cover for Apter.1 -
So he was using tonight's game as a training session to see who is good enough for the 1st team. RIght-o.Callumcafc said:

To be fair going into tonight's game, the question of "Who would replace Alex Mitchell" in the back three given the Stevenage line up was the one we were all probably asking the most, as the rest of the eleven (apart from Rylah) pretty much picked itself from the First Round.
We all suspected it may have been Burke, given he's back in training, and his absence is a problem.3 -
Saints going for JRS makes sense with them selling Dibling to Everton3
-
CB and RWB it sounds like then. Not convinced at all by the Shane Duffy idea if that one is a goer tbh.

Feels like it might now be Z.Mitchell out on loan and then another centre back coming in, plus signing a further wing back option (hopefully versatile enough to play both sides)8

The signing of Burke has messed up the support at the back, rather than enhance it.
A Mitchell played well against Stevenage and we've weakened ourselves a bit!

I think the problem with the Alex Mitchell move is that he wants to play week in week out and isn't someone that's content to be a sub. I totally get loaning him out from that perspective and maybe Burke is now close enough to fitness that NJ was comfortable with sanctioning Alex's loan last week.
But I think tonight has shown we need a fit Burke and probably another Championship experienced option in there.13 -
Statisticians on here, is this an all-timer in terms of golfie meltdowns?golfaddick said:

Yeah I thought Mitchell played v Stevenage. However on the loan thread someone said he played for Plymouth this evening?

Very odd... You're right Alex Mitchell has played for Plymouth against Swansea, and he definitely played for us against Stevenage... Am very surprised he's not cup tied, unless its no longer a thing.bolloxbolder said:Yeah I thought Mitchell played v Stevenage. Would it be a fine, or would you get thrown out of the competition for fielding an ineligible player?fenaddick said:

Started alongside Wierdu at CB in a loss on pens at Swansea so I guess there's no rules anymore about cuptieing?bolloxbolder said:Yeah I thought Mitchell played v Stevenage. However on the loan thread someone said he played for Plymouth this evening?0 -

Tonight proved once and for all that Mitchell isn't as ready as some on here laud him to be, thought he was pretty disappointing overall17
-
I dont know how you add to centre back. KR, LJ and AB all deservedly first choice, so you need someone willing to not start every game but better than Z Mitchell. Another player in the Burke mold perhaps. Questionable fitness but championship proven?2
-
Think Zac Mitchell not done himself any favours tonight and perhaps Jones wants another centre back as well as a RWB/RBCallumcafc said:

Fukuda and a hard as nails proven championship centre back please. Tonight also showed the flaw in sending Asiimwe out on loan before filling that particular gap14

can bring the ball out well at times but that isnt enough
lightweight and lacks physicality
need alot better as backup!5 -
Jake Forster Caskey joined Woking good to see him back playing after a horrendous few years12

If we hadn’t sent him out then he wouldn’t have been able to hit the ground running like he has (also could have missed out completely on a league 1 move which is what he needed). It works both wayssam3110 said:Fukuda and a hard as nails proven championship centre back please. Tonight also showed the flaw in sending Asiimwe out on loan before filling that particular gap7 -
Which is why I think Kanu has ended up in L2NabySarr said:
