Wrexham sign Callum Doyle from Man City (rumoured it's £8m)
Must take their spending to about £30M, with no saleable assets to balance the books. Mental. Hope they plateau for a couple of years and everyone loses interest
Said it on here before, wouldn’t be too catastrophic if Tanganga went. We have a ready made replacement in Camra. Also, because it’s not a PL club who are in for him, we’ll get a nice bit of wedge for him, (the £1.2 mill buy out clause was for PL club’s only). The talk is 5 mill with 2 million of add ons. Not bad for a player we got on a free in the summer.
Would be absolutely gutted if Ivanovic went but I just can’t see it. We have him on a recently signed 3 year contract and have no reason to sell.

Mad that a bottom end PL club isn't snapping him up for £1.2m, even just as a rotation option

My thoughts exactly. Hope it doesn’t get hijacked by one at the last minute. I mean, it’s not ideal selling to a championship rival, but we have to be pragmatic here. That’s a lot of money for a club of our size and I’d be over the moon if we got that, when I thought he would go for 1.2 a few weeks ago.

Guess the options don't really work when you think about it, relegation candidates are West Ham (won't happen for obvious reasons, Brentford (would have already bought him if the data backed it up) and the promoted clubs (who need a higher standard)
Surely they can't play the underdog nonsense anymore when they're spending £10m on Broadhead. It's always been rubbish all along.
Yep, even last season they were the second biggest spenders and finished 2nd. So where's the underdog story?
Orient were the overachievers last year.
I just find the whole story they've built around them to be utter nonsense. They were spending £300k on Ollie Palmer in Non League, they've never been an underdog the whole time Rob and Ryan have owned them and I find a lot of Parkinson's press stuff completely embarrassing.
Feels like we've got the sensible American owners that just want to sit in the background and not make documentaries.
Agreed on the spend point, they have never been minnows since the takeover, where I think they have been clever is how they've raised the money using their profile / contacts it's not just been a case of chucking their own money at like Abramovich did, its been amazing commercial deals and further investment.
Also why I love the series is that it can't be denied that they have done an amazing job at helping the town and all of the renovation, and job opportunities it seems to have created and they stated that this important up front, so I can't ever hate on them, I think they've been hugely positive for the game and obviously Wrexham

I see you've also lost Alfie already to yet another hamstring injury. Was a stupid buy, not on ability but because he can't stay fit. Losing Ivanovic & Tanganga plus Alfie should hopefully put you nicely back into mid-table... delightful!

10 mill for Tanganga. Brilliant bit of business for a player we signed on a free last year.
Ivanovic going no where according to his uncle on twitter.
Alfie will be back , but in the meantime we’ve got good cover for that position.
Wrexham sign Callum Doyle from Man City (rumoured it's £8m)
shows how they miss the injured Rathbone, he plays a difficult role to duplicate, I doubt Doyle can do it
Wrexham being linked with a £7.5m bid for Smallbone from Southampton, not sure if that might be because Rathbone is injured or just they like bones in midfield.
I remember the one in our academy, this is a different Ben Godfrey.
Different one, thats the one who came through at Norwich
Wasn't our Godfrey an attacking player as well?
To be clear I was referring to the ex Norwich one as he went to Everton and then when he moved from there seemingly sort of disappeared from the public consciousness

A strange move to Italy, costing Atalanta £11m, where he's hardly played at all, followed by 2 loan moves back to England.

Delightful indeed 😊
Thought i'd misread that and had to check online. 10m is crazy although Sheff utd can afford it as they've made over 20m in sales this summer. It says the 10m is apparently including add ons though, so not sure what the actual main fee is.
Football fees are ridiculous right now, and i wonder how long it will be before we see the next club crashing and burning due to financial issues. It definitely won't be you though, Flemming, Esse and Tanganga must be 30m in incomings over the past year now?

Southampton sign Fullback/midfielder Mads Roerslev from Brentford
A bit weird for one relegated team to buy a player from another.
