     Never looked like scoring !

Need a decent striker - going to be a long season …

Have been concerned that if we go behind in games we’ll struggle to get back into it and so it transpired. Three games one goal isn’t going to be good enough. Only three clubs on one goal. Us and bottom two.
We showed we are more than capable to score after going behind, we really couldn’t have done much more.
Yes we could, put one in the net. Our strikers and midfield have not gelled yet.

First thing first one of the best home performances for a long while , how did we not win that game .. ??? not sure we could have done much more and we will play a lot lot worse and win …

But …. how Campbell still on that pitch at the end .. it was a terrible performance from him today , he never tracked back , created nothing and missed a sitter to give us a point in the last min summed.. enough enough NJ .. he cannot start at QPR .

Feel really sorry for the boys today .. another day that would have been 4-1 to us .. keeper made 3 excellent saves .. COYR play like that and we will be  comfortably top 12

We win that 3 - 0 on another day. I feel frustrated with the result but not the team because everyone played well. Leaburn was imperious and won everything in the air, Doch and Cov responded to criticism with two outstanding performances, Jones was excellent and would make a decent striker at a lower level... everyone was good.

(I will say, having defended Kelman recently, he annoyed me today. He came on with fresh legs and walked around the pitch).

And while we do have a lot of athleticism in the final third, we're lacking class and quality. We have a tendency to panic and snatch at things.

But I can't be displeased because if we keep playing like that, we'll do well.
I must have watched a different game as I didnt see Leaburn win much in the air at all. Expect more in the air from someone supposedly 6ft 6.
Seriously? He won nearly everything in the air.
Agree Leaburn height he should be winning a lot more headers then he does .. but he played well today up against two excellent CB,s

Think some of the stick Campbell is getting is because he was so tired at the end, that forced the errors. Jones should have taken him off but we didn’t have anyone else (bar Fullah) to play as an attacking RWB really. That’s why Jones wants another RWB
Campbell plays on the left. If you want to replace him during a match isnt best to sign a LW  🤔

I know it's early in the season but games like QPR are must win. They are on a terrible run of form and really these are the teams we should be aiming to beat.

QPR currently getting stuffed away at Coventry. Good sign for next week if we can score a few.
  • 99% certain the Leicester coach having a bit of banter with the fans on the pitch at the end whilst walking off and receiving the ‘who the fucking hell are you’ was Andy Hughes

One of the first times I’ve walked away from
the Valley feeling not too disheartened after a loss.

I give Doc a lot of stick, but he was quality today. Definitely has a role to play against these teams that like to play through the lines. Fair play.

If anything, the only criticism I’d have of Jones is not subbing TC. He was clearly tired and playing him at RWB should be out of the question. It really killed some of our momentum and I’d have liked to see Oloafe there.

As for the ref, less said the better. I don’t mind if he’s going to pull us up for fouls but he has to be consistent. Didn’t chase them up for time wasting and it did feel as though he wanted to pull us up for everything. Weak decision against Jones too for the disallowed goal.

As for Leicester, I quite liked the style of football they were trying to play. But if teams keep trying to play like that against us we will beat them more times than not. Thought they really did ride their luck at times.

Monga looked good and did give Ramsay a test. Fatawu would probably be the best winger in the division if he stays with them so no shame in conceding in that manner.

I think we have another level, however play like that and we’ll be fine.

He moved to RWB when Apter came off because we don’t have another RWB

We did but the twit of a ref gave a foul so it was disallowed.

Just got back. We have a team of battlers and Docherty was superb today. They fell over with every touch today and the ref gave everything to them. We have nothing to worry about in this league at all.

Our style of football is ok if we're getting results, and seeing as we're battling with a team better than the sum of its parts, I'm not complaining.

However, it's very boring football and often with the same tactic of lumping it into the air in the box, with Jones to head it at the far post. It's very predictable. We're never going to see Kelman be effective with this style of football. I can only see him shine away from home on the break when defending a lead.

Before others think I'm being negative, I'll be happy just to stay up for the next two seasons. If this football is what it takes then so be it.

Well fought by the team and on other days we'll get a result.
Would disagree with it being boring football. Best football we’ve played in years and we’ve got players in this team that are great with the ball at there feet and it’s a lot more than just lumping it fwd…

I think our strike force, Kelman included will start clicking. Tanto just offside squared a ball to Kelman and that would have been his first goal.
A West Ham friend watched in on Sky and enjoyed the game. Thought we played very well are should not be too concerned.

    Wonder strike separated us.
leaburn was a menace. Needed someone alongside him.
    We matched them.
So despite the loss, quite positive.
Id like to see tanto given a go from the start with leaburn.
    Not sure about kelman still.

I’m hoping Kelman isn’t punishing himself mentally he needs time to get into his stride. For me he needs to come on as a sub until he clicks. For me Leaburn and Tanto start no idea why TC seems to have cemented that starting spot we need to be more direct and have a cutting edge which atm TC doesn’t supply

Seemed like a lesson learnt that cant make wayward passes and need to finish chances at this level. I do still think we are adapting to this level tho.

Greg Docherty I thought was absolutely superb, maybe his best game for us
Like night and day from the Watford game where he looked sluggish out of possession and careless in possession, looked anything but either today, made us tick today.

Superb performance, how we've lost I have no idea.

Was Ramsay carrying a knock for most of the game? Didn't seem his usual swashbuckling self and seemed to be limping second half

Trouble is starting with Leaburn and Tanto leaves you with no physicality on the bench at all. We are team of late goals and our aim in a lot of games in this league has to be to get to the latter stages of the game nil nil and then go for it. We need something held back. When Godden is fit he may well prove the missing piece of the puzzle as will bring out the best in all our other strikers

Not disheartened by that at all. If we’re performing like that at this stage, it’s likely to be frightening how good we’ll be four plus months from now!
This - we did everything but score, absolutely dominated

fair play to Doc as I was highly critical of him against Watford, was brilliant today.

    Didn’t deserve to lose that

There's going to be many frustrating games like that this season I fear. Play well enough but a lack of quality in the final third , both technically and mentally, will cost us.
Should be good enough against enough teams to stay up and that's all that counts this season.
