Don't think any of the defense should be criticised, think they've all been excellent this season.

I would like to take a closer look at Carey though. He does play well but does he really create/offer as much as everyone thinks he does in the position that he plays in?

PWR … how the FCUK did we lose that. That goal was world class. But ‘kin ‘ell we were unlucky. Just wasn’t our day. Proud of our lads today.

Smash and grab away win. It happens. Leicester got a lucky away win, but I'm sure we’ll nick an undeserved away win soon enough.

One of those days when chances fell to the wrong players. A couple of headers over the bar, which Jones would have buried. And when Jones did get a headed chance, which he buried, the ref had already blown.

Jones is SO dangerous in the air. It's not just his height and power, his movement at set pieces is brilliant.

I was slightly disappointed with the subs, unlike Watford,  I'm not sure they improved things. TC was knackered by the end, whereas Apter looked pretty fresh when he came off.

I've not been his biggest fan, but Doc was excellent today.

    Few comments posted by Cawley.

Jones: "It took a one-in-a-million strike to win the game. "We caused them so many problems from set-pieces and they were released from jail by an individual I cannot comment on." #cafc

Jones says the decision to play Leaburn instead of Kelman was "tactical". "Miles has been outstanding in training." #cafc

Nathan Jones felt his #cafc side "dominated" today's 1-0 loss to Leicester City. "The disallowed goal, I could get myself in trouble - it's an absolute travesty."

Their keeper had a great game and we lacked that clinical finesse that turns moments in the box into chances.

    PWR.

Watched on Now TV. Appeared to be a fine performance but a combination of excellent goalkeeping by the Leicester 'keeper and profligacy by us cost us.

I thought TC had a good game overall both on and off the ball but he should have buried that header near the end rather than put it over the bar.

    Disappointing result but COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

An absolute burglary that. We dominated in every area of the pitch except in goal, and it’s not like our keeper was ever tested. Undone by a brilliant strike from a player who was playing Premier League last season but that’s the way it can go in this division. We didn’t take our chances but we also didn’t craft ourselves enough real clear cut ones to put it beyond their keeper’s power. We did once but a soft free kick saw a good goal disallowed.

Encouraging all over the pitch and it’s a real injustice that we lost but the fact remains we’ve now scored one injury time goal in three games and we need to work on that. Leaburn worked hard but fluffed his big moment when he should have put Doc through, TC was dangerous but still gets the simple things wrong and Kelman never looked threatening at all. Tanto got his run wrong and was offside when he could have been away and put one on a plate for Kelman. We can get some of these things wrong in a game but not all of them. Hopefully if we keep playing like that we’ll be fine but the goals need to start coming soon or we’ll have a lot of games like this

Have been concerned that if we go behind in games we’ll struggle to get back into it and so it transpired. Three games one goal isn’t going to be good enough. Only three clubs on one goal. Us and bottom two.
We showed we are more than capable to score after going behind, we really couldn’t have done much more.
    We did ?

(I will say, having defended Kelman recently, he annoyed me today. He came on with fresh legs and walked around the pitch).

And while we do have a lot of athleticism in the final third, we're lacking class and quality. We have a tendency to panic and snatch at things.

But I can't be displeased because if we keep playing like that, we'll do well.
I must have watched a different game as I didnt see Leaburn win much in the air at all. Expect more in the air from someone supposedly 6ft 6.

Played well and we should've won but was a bit disappointed it took so long to make subs. Thought Tanto should've been on a lot earlier and for Campbell.

Can’t believe some don’t rate Edwards. Been utterly brilliant defensively so far this season. The goal today was a moment of brilliance, 9 times out of 10 that doesn’t go in.
The stats say 97/100 it doesn’t, it was a ridiculous strike

No team in this league is going to go through the season undefeated so it’s not worth worrying about losing 1-0, especially to a goal
Like that. It is a bit disappointing losing this one, however, because half way into the first half, Leicester started to look like a team that was just used to losing and we didn’t capitalise on it. TBF, the whole Charlton team looked like it was a bit off the pace today but so did everyone in the crowd, so maybe just chalk today off to the weather and concentrate upon winning next week.

I’m not one to blame the officials but I thought the ref and his two assistants were disappointing today. They seemed out of their depth for L1, let alone this division. They spoilt the game.

But they win a free holiday in thailand!!!

Fantastic effort across the park and we didn't look out of place at all. So unfortunate the ball didn't land for us today.

It's an unpopular opinion as they're we'll liked players, but TC and Leaburn as a front 2 isn't good enough at this level.
    This.

Would like to see more of Oalafe.

Our style of football is ok if we're getting results, and seeing as we're battling with a team better than the sum of its parts, I'm not complaining.

However, it's very boring football and often with the same tactic of lumping it into the air in the box, with Jones to head it at the far post. It's very predictable. We're never going to see Kelman be effective with this style of football. I can only see him shine away from home on the break when defending a lead.

Before others think I'm being negative, I'll be happy just to stay up for the next two seasons. If this football is what it takes then so be it.

Well fought by the team and on other days we'll get a result.
We've just watched a whole season of it in league 1, hardly going to change now.

We had enough chances to win that, but couldn’t finish. I am not at all despondent. The amount of money they have spent they should beat us.We are very tight defensively but we need Godden fit and firing.

Think some of the stick Campbell is getting is because he was so tired at the end, that forced the errors. Jones should have taken him off but we didn’t have anyone else (bar Fullah) to play as an attacking RWB really. That’s why Jones wants another RWB

Tyreece Campbell is not a Championship striker - he won’t score all season. Get Olaofe up top with Leaburn!
Get Olaofe up top with Godden or Kelman.

I have a growing worry that Josh Edwards may not be able to step up enough to justify his place. Maybe a LWB is what we are still looking for.
He's been superb so far this season! Where's the growing worry from? As that indicates you've been worried about him since the first game, when he was brilliant against strong opponent of Baah.

Still think we need to put some perspective here about the quality of opposition. Leicester have started slowly but the player who scored the goal cost more than our whole squad

Again plenty of opportunities to score and we failed to take them. We definitely need to see what we can do to get Kelman and TC on the score sheet.

We played well but nothing to show for it. Just no luck today.

Nothing to be worried about however.

Kaminski (for me) remains the least impressive of our new signings.
Kaminski had nothing to do today except watch the unstoppable shot over his head!
Kaminski, still gives no confidence. He has not dropped a clanger but he seems no better than AMB.

We also have to look at this...  We literally dominated in all but possession and goals scored.

Few comments that Louis Mendez has posted on twitter.

Nathan Jones: "We were dominant. It took a 1 in a million strike to win the game for them. We had so many opportunities. If we got one I think we'd have gone on and won it. That's the lesson. That was the only difference."

"It's hard to be disappointed with the level of performance because if that was 5-1 (to Charlton) it would have been a fair result."

"The disallowed goal is... I could get myself in trouble...an absolute travesty. I don't get it. What they see. And then there was an honesty in our play that they didn't have because that led to their goal. I'm disappointed but I'm so proud."

"If that's our level, then I'm excited about what we can achieve this season."

We had more shots on target today than we’ve faced in 3 league games. We just needed slightly better finishing
  • Campbell isn’t direct enough and still seems a bit more interested in drawing a foul than getting a shot or cross away. Kind of reminds me of Lloyd sam a bit, a headache for a defender, yes, but needs a bit more.

Created enough in the 2nd half but thought the first half was a bit lacklustre bar Cov’s shot.

Doc was fantastic. Just felt like we had a lack of quality and were a hard working League One side mostly making wrong decisions.

    Just a bit average.

As for the disallowed goal, the ref blew early so wasn’t even excited that it went in.
