What was the view on Sky for the disallowed goal?

If I was Leicester I’d be worried off the back of that. Lack of momentum is a bitch and they look bereft of it.

Lack of killers in front of goal are going to hurt us this season
I have to say, I dont agree with this. Not just saying this as im a Charlton fan.... but that is one of the most unjust results I've seen in football. A bit more luck with deflections/balls dropping in the box, and we'd have scored 5 today. Their keeper played very well too.

I'm more pissed off that we didn't win the game than the fact we've lost. We'll do very well this season.

Personally I think we'll finish in the playoffs.

I mean our player had his arm clearly around the defenders neck in a tussle. Whether it was 50/50 is another matter but was pretty clear to see the infraction.

Every ref in the country is giving that.

If they carry on like they have, they’ll finish 7th-12th & have to sell their good players and rebuild.

Reckon we play them again next season and beat them.

Have been concerned that if we go behind in games we’ll struggle to get back into it and so it transpired. Three games one goal isn’t going to be good enough. Only three clubs on one goal. Us and bottom two.
We showed we are more than capable to score after going behind, we really couldn’t have done much more.

Leicester were total shit and they beat us, which is a concern. However, we did play well and on another day would have won comfortably.

He’ll need to get a kick of the ball first!

Gonna happen quite a few times this year with the huge jump in quality at Championship level. Can't really criticise anything, two fantastic shots on goal in the game and theirs went in, ours was saved by a brilliant save.

Slight concern would be the amount of chances we actually created. Obviously should have won today but that was complete dominance at set pieces, don't know if that will really happen every game. But obviously so many new attacking options brought in over the summer always going to take some time to gel and work out our best options.

Tyreece was getting the brunt of it in the match thread which I do think is unfair. He definitely tired at the end and should have probably been one of the subs off but he's a bit of a victim of that lacking in creativity so far we've had. He's always out searching to get on the ball which makes him look worse when it doesn't come off than Apter hugging the touchline all game and getting the ball a lot less.

Yet they're still 4th, albeit their two wins have come against a Sheff Wed team that battered for most of the match, and a newly promoted team that battered them for most of the match.

Probably evidence again that the Championship, like League One is reliant on having a strong back line, and taking the odd opportunity when it comes, that's where we fell down today.

Good game settled by an excellent finish. We were probably the better team & didn't deserve to lose, but if you cant finish just one of half a dozen half chances then you wont get much out of a game.

Impressed with Coventry & Doc......as well as the whole back 3. We still lack a creative midfielder who will make that decisive pass but we didnt lack effort.

Saving grace is that at least Millwall wont be able to claim being the first to beat us at home this season !

We played well but nothing to show for it. Just no luck today.

Nothing to be worried about however.

Kaminski (for me) remains the least impressive of our new signings.

    Strange comment 🤔
  • No team in this league is going to go through the season undefeated so it’s not worth worrying about losing 1-0, especially to a goal
Like that. It is a bit disappointing losing this one, however, because half way into the first half, Leicester started  to look like a team that was just used to losing and we didn’t capitalise on it. TBF, the whole Charlton team looked like it was a bit off the pace today but so did everyone in the crowd, so maybe just chalk today off to the weather and concentrate upon winning next week.

I’m not one to blame the officials but I thought the ref and his two assistants were disappointing today. They seemed out of their depth for L1, let alone this division. They spoilt the game.

They knew how to waste time , nick a few few kicks and aside from their goal, we were better. We lacked a little composure with our final pass too. A lot of positives and bear in mind we are still a new team in many respects

I have a growing worry that Josh Edwards may not be able to step up enough to justify his place. Maybe a LWB is what we are still looking for.
He's been fine so far this season, the issue with the goal was the fact that all First Half, we doubled up on Fatawu, with Bell providing support. The goal itself came from Edwards being completely isolated against him.

Jones claiming their goal was from 35 yards which is a bit of a wild one.

    Leicester fans were shockingly bad.

Really unlucky for us, need some goals from our strikers. I am still very confident we have a quality strike force, just need to get up and running.

3 games in and I’m the happiest I’ve been for 15 odd years, still plenty to come.

our fans were fucking quality today

We’ll be fine. We’re difficult to score against and we haven’t yet worked out our best combination in midfield and up front. Some players will improve over the season too.

Disappointed with the result but not the performance. 1 bit of quality from Leicester all game. Leicester defended for their lives which given where the respective clubs were 4 months ago is very positive. Ref was a total prick

Fair enough! Just looked through my messages with my old man and been reminded of Coventry trying to backheel it from two yards out...

We definitely deserved something from that match but I guess this is the Championship - teams might just have that extra magic that we're not used to. Also noticing how much better the keepers are, wasn't it similar last week their GK made some great saves?

Doc immense today, Cov really up for it bar the goal line fluff, thought Apter and Carey linked up well but slightly less effective today? Miles raring to go. TC...flashes and a great outlet, but not at his best. Defence was great again except for being undone by one moment. All good signs, we should be more than fine, as long as we don't let this deflate us! Might lump big on us smashing QPR next week...
