Charltons best manager since Curbs

  • Parkinson I reckon could have gotten us promoted the year he got sacked, had he been able to work with Wright-Phillips, but don't think we'd have had the following season had that not happened.

Powell: Never felt we were truly in a relegation battle, and would have guided us to safety regardless what with the games in hand that we had, probably would have done well with the incomings we had that summer under Bob Peeters

Riga: Thought he did well, and could have continued that good work into the next season, he was definitely aided by the fact that he had Powell's squad, and like I say, we weren't ever at risk of relegation in my opinion... His second stint was the opposite, he never got a window in charge of the club to show his true ability to build a team.

I'm surprised parkinson didn't get much of a mention. He is the 4th best since Curbs in my opinion.

He didn't have the backing under the owners after the playoff failure.

We put a good side together and he was good at recruitment.
Was also manager of one of the worst performances I have seen from a Charlton team.
Northwich Victoria away in the FA Cup.
  • Parky was excellent in L1.

However he had an awful run of results in the Championship,  which does count against him. The most undeserved caretaker to permanent manager switch ever.
Didn't win in about 8 then got the job. Brilliant stuff.
