  • A small aside, I was interested to see the popularity of our Jamican style 3rd kit being worn at Aston Gate by the Addicked faithful. I really love it as much as i dislike the light blue 2nd kit, sorry Charlton IMHO shouldn't play in blue whatever the shade. Its a horrible design and a bit naff however the Jamican kit in contrast is stylish, subtle and just looks great not screaming out "football" shirt but more "casual" leisurewear, well done to our new kit designers. I hope it's first league appearance is at Loftus Rd. COYA's.
Why would we wear black against QPR? They play in blue and white and we play in red...

One thing i missed was that Nathan Jones was on the same train as me the 18.22 from BTM to Portsmouth. Another Charlton fan told me when we got off at Salisbury. Apparently he was a couple of rows of seats behind me...Typical.

Apparently some fans eyeballed him at BTM prior to my train coming in.
He was enjoying the adoration of the Charlton fans on the platform opposite with them singing “Jonesy’s at the wheel”

I think he particularly liked the fans with the ‘Charlton Cymru 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿’ flag and took a selfie with that in the background.

Clearer image of what he has in his hand. I didn’t want to believe it but it’s definitely a sandwich. Devastating.

Make you right Sporadic, but I think it's been a long time since I've been able to work out how and why we play in the second or third kit when there is no colour clash, go back to black and white telly I say, three
channels, a short walk to turn it over, beans on toast for tea is it ? never could be sure, Marvellous !

A clean.sheet guarantees something from every game.

    It's perfect

    Clean.sheet against Millwall?

For the love of God, yes

I mean there was a 0-0 at The Den over a decade back, I was there! And the Bauer disallowed 0-0. And the Tucudean 0-0, both at home. So we've kept 3 clean sheets against them in our non-winning run
  • What we don't do against Millwall is score, and we certainly don't score more than one since that stupid 4-4 that began this horror run

Ah Leuth happy days, I am one of those who have seen our only two wins at the Den. Kim Grant in the snow and a much forgotten two nil victory, Dave Shipperley and Peter Shaw, scoring, my Millwall mates deny the second match ever happened but can remember the return game at the Valley, when they won 4-2.
  • We're massively off topic here but I think it's the shorts, can't both be white
  • And we have a 3rd kit to sell.

It wasn't so long ago that we had just two kits, and in an emergency for the one game a year both kits clashed, the kit manufacturer would produce a generic plain kit for that match,

Then that plain 3rd kit got normalised.

Then that 3rd kit became a proper kit in itself...

We definitely play at a very high tempo so all of our players are going to need a rest and recovery out of the team from time to time. Jones has a squad where we’re able to do that without too much disruption. At this point I still don’t think Nathan has worked out exactly who his “first eleven” are. Knibbs and Olaofe for example haven’t come to regularly play off the bench. At some point both will need integrating into the starting line up. Having said that, none of the current starters deserve to be dropped. What a great position we’re in for the first time in donkeys.
Not saying Kelman deserves to be dropped, but I think we would be more difficult opponents with Olaofe starting. Or Miles. I know Kelman works the defense, but so would Olaofe in particular.  I suspect most defenders would rather face Kelman than Olaofe from the kick-off.

I was very impressed with the Bristol stream commentary and analysis. It's well put together.

Also, if they can afford it, I'm hopeful we can too.

REPORT QPR 2 Charlton 2 Charlton Athletic Football Club
Because it's happened doesn't make it right. We should wear red away at QPR. We can wear black shorts (as we used to).

And looking at that picture, picking players out for pass at pace would be a darn sight easier if we were wearing red.

We are a high pressing team now though It would help us steal the ball.

Can you give more details about it? (since I'm due to talk with Tom R, about Charlton TV, mainly on behalf of the international crowd)

How come you were able to/chose to access it? (if the answer is something to do with a stick could you also access Charlton TV that way?)

Do they have a studio - based format, as we did?

Do they have control of replay footage, as we did but no longer do?

I watched it with a Bristol fan who has a subscription.

Yeah, it's a studio format. It's tighter than our old show and more game-focused. They were able to annotate the highlights - which I never saw on CAFCTV - and provide insight and analysis. Whereas CAFCTV was more general chatter and comments about the game. Which is good, too. But there could be a balance of both.

I'm not sure if they had control of the replay footage during the live game. I couldn't tell.
