I would say that something that Nathan has changed with this Charlton team is that with 15 minutes to go, we are expecting to win games like these and not lose them.
It is difficuly with Doc as it is early days and he is definitely playing his part but the pace of the game seems a little too much at the moment. Having said that, I don't have any worrries, but I think we will see Anderson really push for his place as the season goes on. I seriously believe that lad is going all the way.
Now for Lloyd Jones. The lad is 29, nearly 30, but they are all lads to me sadly. But it shows how late in a career your game can still develop as he is about as far from a League One defender as it is possible to be. I would say that our back three is likely to be the best in the Championship. Bell played in the Premier league and didn't disgrace himself and most of us know that Ramsey will end up playing there. And Jones has gone up a level, no probably three levels.
Only watched highlights. Got a feeling this result is more impressive than first game particularly after Bristol's performance last week.
Was it the case..??
Probably agree with that when we played Watford they had just come off the worse 2nd half of the season in the championship a completely different brand of football and a young inexperienced squad that hasn’t settled yet playing them at home. Yesterday we played a proven championship team with a proven championship manager away from home who had smashed one of the favourites last weekend. Not even just the result itself but the fact it was a deserved point and potentially could have come away with all 3 is really promising
C’mon @ForeverAddickted, get those guns blazing, we were all over them mate in the end, they didn’t know if they were bored, drilled, or countersunk, and need blowing out of the water…😉

I think it does show to an extent that people big teams up too much after too few games. Now I am not saying City are not decent ad they will probably finish nearer the top than the bottom but they beat a defensively poor Sheffield United last week. Anybody who watched that game could see how poor United were. I wasn't fearful going into yesterday as I know being that poor defensively is not in our DNA.
Only a point but feels like a win. Another great performance, was panicking first 20min but then we settled and matched them all over the pitch.
Our defence is as good as anyones defence in the league, Ramsey is an absolute beast and Jones just seems so calm and collected.
If we can get attack scoring we will be some force this year.
Scary thought we still have players getting fully fit and we will continue to improve. As someone who is too young to remember the prem years, I can imagine the excitement levels were similar to this back in those days.
Now sat here thinking we match Leicester and grab 3 points. Exciting season ahead!
That really was a very good performance. You can really see the Nathan Jones way. Keep it tight at the back and we’re always in with a chance of nicking a winner. And it’s not boring to watch either. The way the whole team battles is impressive. We’ve recruited some really exciting players and we have squad depth as well. It’s so exciting to see that we have our Charlton back.
And, a special mention to our support. The singing was non stop and loud the whole game. Those drummers must have sore arms today!
DEE-FENCE wins games !! and our defensive strategy is doing this season what got us promoted last season. Look after the defending and the goals we need will look after themselves
Great result and we're the most progressive team in the second half. The City fans on the way back to the station were surprised how organised we looked yesterday. Great subs which gave them something g else to think about.
Was a game of few chances but a well deserved point and a good check to see where we are at against a good side.
And their fans were decent pre and post match too.
Another superb result, petrol head went down there , whilst I was too busy getting a duck and relegated playing cricket, managed to get the result whilst fielding on the boundary and with the added bonus of the scum losing softened my teams relegation blow . Solidity will keep us up and we’re showing it in bundles . cant wait to see us live in a few weeks .
the obsession of some with wanky Welsh Wrexham is as weird as my cricket club , freaks

I have just watched some of the highlights of other Championship sides. It's early days, but what is noticeable is the defending or lack of it by sides who we all thought would be quite a distance ahead with their experience in this division. If we defended like some of those teams then Nathan Jones would be chucking kitchen units not just tea cups at the wall. Unmarked players scoring with free headers, Portsmouth, Goalkeepers being beaten at their near post, Wrexham, too many to count, Derby. Also, there is a doubt about Alfie Doughty being fit for Millwall on 13th September, off yesterday with a hamstring injury. I will save Millwall's performance till last, as I watched it twice, can't think why, that could have been 3-3 with the chances created, Millwall managed to hit both uprights with one chance, but their defending, oh dear.
Great result ..there is such a great spirit and work ethic when we play and that is down to the Welsh Prince. If the players keep their feet on the ground we will go far .The difference since NJ is phenomenal and we still have a very long way to go .We can stand proud, chests puffed out knowing that we'll compete with any side in this division.
However one game at a time ..not too high when we win ..not too low when we lose
Early days yet but I wonder if and when other teams start to change the way they play against us?
Obviously defensively we're pretty solid, we put on a lot of pressure and we can be very threatening in attack. we don't look like a team who gives up. Or one who just parks the bus.
There is/must be some good managers in this league. They like to analysis the opposition, find weaknesses and exploit them. I'm not sure how many weaknesses there are. Maybe they just rather slug it out and hopefully get that one goal to beat us. or rely just on the way their team plays rather than worry what the opposition team are doing. I don't know but be interesting to see.
Either that or we collect injuries, lose form and our confidence gets knocked after the drubbing we receive at the hands of Millwall.

Sounds like a decent away day for those of you there, and a solid performance to go with it.
Massively pleased. I said on the pre-match I would’ve bitten your hand off for a 0-0 and it sounds like we did the ugly stuff well and from just watching the highlights on ITV4, there wasn’t much in it re: clear cut chances, so it looks like we held our own going forward as well.
I know there is a lot more stability about the club this time round, but my mind can’t stop thinking about the bright start we had in 2019 and then just how bloody tough it got. I’m confident we’ve got the players to compete in this division, but we know when the last days of summer finish and we get into those months of Oct onwards, things will get tough. We can enjoy it while we can though
another tough one next week. 46 odd points to go
I agree it will be tough. But one great thing is that these days the closer it gets to 90 minutes the more likely I think it is we will score. A few years ago it was the opposite. N J has made us both very hard to beat and also fit enough to run other teams into the ground in the last quarter.
Definitely
and the intensity NJ demands implies that each of the players don’t want to let each other down and will ensure the collective pressure and hard work ethic etc.
I also think the talent is there this time, and the depth. I recall when Lyle Taylor got injured in 19/20 it was down to Bonne and Josh Davison to lead the line. To be fair to Bonne, he did okay. It was an even more dire situation in that run of games over Xmas when Bowyer had to blood a bunch of youngsters of which Doughty was probably the only one that was good enough; and we were fortunate enough to benefit from.
It’s absolutely more solid this time if you look at the foundations, the incomings etc, but I have in recent years, been very carried away with positive starts and these early season runs. If we can come away with 3pts out the next 2 I’ll be delighted
We had a fairly decent start to last season, then it went south a little but until that amazing run after Christmas that got us exactly here. I think we'll be fine this season, more consistent overall tan last year and a lot bloody harder to beat.
I love Nathan Jones's tactics, grind the opposition down over the first 60 minutes, then go for the kill in the final part of the match, switching it up and using our "finishers" to battered a tired backline. Once this team click and really get's going, I think we'll surprise a few.
I'm saying now that we'll finish 10th-12th comfortably.
I hope you are right about where we will finish. The issue for us may be any injuries to key players like Jones, Ramsay, Coventry and so on.
Hope Josh is ok. Looked nasty when he jarred his knee.
He looked to be walking fine at the end so 🤞
Josh Edwards is Scottish granite and hope you are correct. Was it connected with when he went down against Watford and came off ? We really don't want anything to upset the momentum though we have Bell who can play there and we know Macca can do a job at LCB which also helps our attacking from free kicks and corners.
Our fans celebrating defensive moves like goals was a highlight for me. When they replayed one of Ramsay's tackles from behind our goal arms were in the air just in front of the camera. It happened each time there was a last ditch tackle or block. You know its going to be a gutsy performance when fans are right behind the team like that.

Everything has already been said but isn't it good to be able to bring on actual game changers with 20 to go in Tanto & Knibbs.
3 standouts for me yesterday -
THAT tackle by Ramsay in the first 20 mins. Outstanding timing.
THAT take out of the air by Apter. And to then just take on their player & beat him.
THAT dive by Jones 🤭
I may just he coming round to the idea that defences win you titles.
