I'd have expected Ipswich to bring a better quality forward than Akpom.MarcusH26 said:https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2025/august/10/town-sign-striker-chuba/
Ipswich sign Chuba Akpom on loan from Ajax.Must be in his 30s now and only remember one season where he couldn't stop scoring.2

Yeah I dont see the overall fuss about him, with both Ipswich and Birmingham interested, I would have been a bit underwhelmed had he been linked withstoneroses19 said:

Akpom scored 28 in 38 in this division just three years ago and has since played in a couple of top leagues across Europe. If we signed him, i think we'd be pretty happy. He'll score loads for Ipswich.2

According to Pete O'Rouke, QPR have agreed a fee with Wycombe for Richard Kone.0

Wycombe need the Kone money to finance some signings you imagine.0

Shouldn’t do, owner is a mega billionaire and they have much less restrictive funding rules in L1killerandflash said:Wycombe need the Kone money to finance some signings you imagine.2

Comment on 2 recent Wrexham signings:
Ryan Reynolds told he's wasted £4m as Wrexham deals ripped to shreds - 'Not done a thing'0
-
QPR have signed striker Richard Kone from Wycombe Wanderers for an undisclosed fee. The sought-after 22-year-old scored 21 goals in the 2024-25 season as the Chairboys finished fifth in League One and was named both the division's player and young player of the season. 0

Wrexham about to drop our entire spend this window on one player. I think it’s an overpay but shows some serious financial muscle

Massively reaching on that one IMO1

            Getting their business done early7

That is a LOT of money for Broadheadfenaddick said:

10m for a player in the last year of his contract. Absolutely mental.
 "The gang goes bankrupt"16

Ipswich are fantastic at selling players at inflated prices. Reckon they've had Wrexham over good and proper...6
-
He was linked a couple of weeks ago for 7m, and i thought even that was a bit expensive. 10m is wild. Feels like they're paying about 4m too much just because he's Welsh.0
-
How the Championship has changed while we’ve been sloshing in L1 - we get promoted, spend over £10m on fees, but the other two promoted clubs will have comfortably spent far more than us.2
-
Looks like west brom might be getting toby collyer on loan the kind of player I wish we had next to Coventry.0
-

Can't compare us to those 2 crackpot clubs though IMO, both are bankrolled by media and glamour as much as actual moneyScoham said:How the Championship has changed while we’ve been sloshing in L1 - we get promoted, spend over £10m on fees, but the other two promoted clubs will have comfortably spent far more than us.1
-
Broadhead is a good championship player but at 27 and only a year left on his contract 10m seems ridiculously high.0
-

Yeah I agree they’re on another level to us in that way, but I don’t think they’ll be the last clubs promoted from L1 who spend that kind of money in the Championship.sam3110 said:
