  • Beadle beaten from the halfway line...
  • What an amazing strike!!
  • Yes Beadle for me continually showing he's not that great.

By the way I reckon we can beat Leicester.  They look very loose at the back and I think we can outfight them
  • I thought the prize money would be a bit higher for the winners. It's not even a week's wages for a decent PL player
Which is exactly why PL teams couldn't care less about it, the prize money isn't even worth it for us really

Agree. A bit like Z Mitchell, some fans seem to know the family, so they won't have a single word said about them unless it's positive and focused on potential, rather than current ability and performance.
  • Hideous.
Why? Winnable game against league 2 opposition. Would have rather West Ham away or similar, but miles better than a Championship team home/away.
Played them about 50,000 times, we are never going to win the cup so I would rather a big away day or a new ground tick.

I of course understand if we win, we them get another chance, but typically speaking we very rarely get that glamour tie
No wonder we don’t do well in cups with that attitude. Beating Cambridge = better chance of a plum draw as the bigs boys enter. Would we have brought 9k to Man United a few years ago if we met in second round? I’m not so sure.
  • You ain’t getting a big team away in a regional draw unless you get West Ham. This is a winnable game with a fringe team, with QPR away the following Saturday. Win it we can get a 9k following away next round or another step closer to a two leg game to Wembley. We could of got Swansea or Bristol City away, so think we done alright,
  • Winnable game and you can rotate the squad again getting more minutes in the legs of those catching up. Last think we need at this stage of the season is getting tonked or losing a main player from a injury in the cup.

Good to give fringe players a game.
To be fair only an hour drive as well for me, not too shabby
    1h 15mins
  • Only draw I would’ve preferred would’ve been West Ham. Will take that all day, couldn’t ask for a better opportunity to get to round 3 and the possibility of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool…
  • Bit of cash for Grimsby being shown live at home to Manchester United, I'm assuming it will be selected?

Do bears shit in the woods. Is the Pope a catholic spring to mind.

When bears roam free they have Catholic tastes and when the Pope did a weekend retreat with Bear Grylls, he had to shit in the woods.
  • A winnable away draw against a League 1 team in Cambridge is definitely better than a 5k crowd at home against the same opponents.

More game time for the squad and chances for "the Mitchell brothers" and especially the talent that is Fullah to shine alongside both Captain Gillesphey and the impressive Mannion who will continue to push Thomas Kaminski.

I didn't want Millwall in a cup with the tasty two league matches this season and fans screaming at Nathan to play our strongest '16' when League points are more important.

We were last but not least in that southern draw out of 22 teams and that must be a first 🤔

I was watching the game live and it was out the blue but It was a wonderful strike by Hamer and most of the Keepers now would've taken up the same position as they are coached to sprint off their lines.

Kaminski and Dillon Phillips are two keepers who are more stay on your line types overall.

Beadle has gone to Birmingham to play 1st team football but Allsop got the Jersey for the 1st League match and will probably retain it for Saturday.

I really don't know how good Beadle is or can be but he reminds me of  Pope at the same age.
Nick is 6ft 6in and James Beadle is 6ft 7in.
  • What a cack tie BUT if we get through it, I would like either Spurs. Arsenal or Everton. Aint been to none of the stadiums and would like to give one a go!

Guess we'll have to wait till next season and then play them all

Allsop was not great in the 1st game against Ipswich either, so hopefully Beadle gets a chance.  I would still like to see him do well.
  • Beadle in goal for Birmingham tonight after being on the bench to Allsop on Saturday.
All teams are making wholesale changes for this early round.
The same as they do every year for every cup competition

At The Valley, I feel we can beat anyone, especially with a good crowd behind them, and we'll need it this season.

Brighton need Charlton fan Beadle to play 1st team football and surely that's why they chose Birmingham.

I agree Allsop wasn't great in that 1st League match and hopefully Beadle does get the Jersey but the blues fans need to back him more than some cafc fans did with Nick Pope when he had the hard low shot* at his body problem despite his all round shot stopping and being good at taking crosses in the air.

Nick Pope has had a top career and I wish James a similar career but its all a learning curve at just 21 for Beadle.

    * Auto correct keeps turning shot to shit when I just want water turned into wine 🍷 cheers.
  • I completely get the people who say that we're not going to win it so they want a big club. But for me i'd rather have as easier tie as possible. Rotate the squad, give minutes to kids and back up players, rest as many of the main guys as possible, and still (in theory) have a decent chance of progressing. I want to cruise through then next round i want the winner of Accrington-Doncaster so we can go even further.

Save the 'big' draw for a later round. If we make the 4th round and we will almost certainly get a big PL club.
  • I hope it’s the Wednesday as I’m working on the Tuesday . I done expect there’s much chance of that ?
