They put up a good fight but losing two players and Bannan to a red was a bit of a disaster for an already depleted squad. Maybe they are a good club to loan a player like Dixon, Kanu or Ahadme to for half a season. It will help them out and we get to see what the player can do at this level.3

I'm drowning THEIR sorrows in a Kelham Island beer garden. (Sorry Craig).

No way would I help them out with a loan player. Also imagine the whole club is toxic to be around right now, not the ideal place to nurture a young talent15

Thought the quality of their game today was considerably lower than ours and the Ipswich V Brum game on Friday. If Leicester had had any sort of striker they’d have won that comfortably.6 -

Let them take whatever PL loan kids they can get like the 2 from Man United that are supposedly coming. Would rather loan out our own talents to the top of League 1 in better environments.7

Great support from their fans yesterday. I've read that some of their fans will be boycotting home games so they don't give Chansiri any money and will instead be doing loads of aways.
Overall though, glad they lost as despite our result on Saturday i'm not getting too carried away and i see them as a relegation rival for us. I want them and the likes of Preston, Oxford, Hull, Portsmouth etc to lose as many games as possible.16 -

Maybe I am being over confident but I don't see us going down. And if we do, Sheff Wednesday won't be the team that causes it. If we loaned them a player and that player scored goals, surely that benefits us especially if we can take them back in January. I get the point that it might be toxic there but it might benefit some players. Ultimately they know they are a Charlton player.
Also, I thought it was a nice touch the Leicester fans clapping the Wednesday fans. We are all football fans at the end of the day and we can go back to hating them when their club is not in danger. At this time we should empathise, especially given our recent history.0 -
Screw Wednesday...
If the EFL had the cojones to do their job properly, Wednesday would have got a points deduction in 2020.
And Charlton would have stayed up.20 -
Alan Nixon says they are going to a points deduction but the EFL are delaying it right now for some reason ..3

John Textor teaming up with Keith Harris (not that one) on a bid.
Wasn't Harris involved with one of our takeovers?2 -

They haven't even worked out what deductions to give Leicester and that's been known about ever since they were promoted last time. Takes so long that Wednesday points deduction will probably happen next season instead2

Points deductions should be automatic if you are playing games with players you cannot afford to pay.5

After some of our recent troubles, I find some of the Wednesday bashing to be rather sanctimonious.
After all, most clubs are playing players they can't really afford. If our owners turn around tomorrow and say they are putting nothing more in, we would be screwed pretty much instantly as we can't afford them, it's just that our owners subsidise us.8 -

If our owners turn around tomorrow and say they are putting nothing more in, we would be screwed pretty much instantly as we can't afford them, it's just that our owners subsidise us.There are probably a handful of football league clubs who are run truly sustainably and who don’t rely on their owners, the rest including us are 100% reliant on owners pumping money in. Once owners choose to stop, or run out of money, you are going to have issues very quickly when most clubs have wage budgets alone that exceed their turnover.I gather from some friends that Chansiri has always been a bit of a loose cannon but I would question the sanity of anyone who chooses to buy a football club nowadays so perhaps it is unsurprising to see him asking for what appears a ludicrous price. As an aside, there was an article in the BBC recently showing off Man Utd’s training ground, £50 million spent including a dedicated barber just for the players. This from a club who were apparently going to bust in less than 12 months unless they sacked all the cleaners and stopped free lunches for staff. If ever there is an example of how football is broken beyond repair that must be it.9 -
Apparently enough work has been done on their North stand to get a safety certificate, so it will now be open for their home game this weekend.
Also a good effort from their kids tonight, they were one minute away from winning at Bolton. Five teenagers in the starting lineup, including both centre backs, and 9 of the 11 were 21 or under.1 -

Not saying they didn’t do ok, just a bit of context.
