A chance for @Braziliance to see Piergianni even though we’ve been promoted
Great news. Get to watch one of the best defenders league 1 has had the past 5 years again, and he will undoubtedly be one of the toughest players we come up against all season.
Shame they didn't stick us in the Preliminary Round. Given our historic record in the competition it would have made sense to get our one game in the League Cup, done and out of the way
TBF we got to the quarter final only a couple years ago.
Must have been a blue moon, because the majority of our time in the League Cup has surely got us as one of the worst in its history
The club with the worst cup history is QPR. I looked it up and posted it on here not so long ago.

But QPR actually won the darn thing, albeit a long time ago (1967). Surely that alone makes their record better than ours?

Probably but we won the FA Cup (so the better competition)
The football season officially kicks off tonight with Barnet Vs Newport in the preliminary round of the League Cup.
For some reason the Accrington Vs Oldham game though is not until next Tuesday.
Whoever wins tonight will be at home to Millwall in the first round.
It'll be interesting how Barnet and Newport approach this game. It might give them an advantage for when the league starts on Saturday having a competitive game as the final warmup match.
Seen a few pundits tipping Barnet to do well, and possibly even make the playoffs. Promoted sides generally do perform quite well in League Two so don't know how much is based off that versus actually knowing about the quality in their side.
Saw a stat from one of them that also said something like only 2 of the last 12 sides relegated from League One have even finished in the top half of League Two the following season.
Wasnt just the goals that were stunning, but the Newport 'keeper pulled off some great saves as well going by the Highlights, looks like Barnet battered them second half, feels a shame that only one could go through.
The draw for Round Two of the Carabao Cup will take place live during the build-up to Birmingham City’s Round One tie against Sheffield United on Sky Sports Football on Wednesday, 13 August.
Sky Sports presenter Mark Chapman will host the draw at approximately 7:20 pm, which includes the introduction of the 11 Premier League Clubs not participating in European competitions.
The Carabao Cup remains regionalised in the early rounds, with the draw split into a Southern and Northern Section until Round Three.
Round Two ties will take place on the week commencing 25 August.
The ball numbers for Wednesday's draw are below...
