How do Birmingham get most of the decisions their way?
25,000 hostile home fans. But hold on .....
I was being sarcastic. Hate the club, the fans. All they do is boo everyone and shout and swear for 90 minutes. Shouln't have been a penalty as the forward was grabbing the defenders shorts.
I wonder what Orient fans think of Birmingham? Just watched vs Ipswich and no songs over 90 minutes from the hosts, just plenty of aggressive baying. Vile crowd, atmosphere and player behaviour.
Was it only Chaplin that got booked after the equaliser? Looked like some big Birmingham player attacked him, so not sure why Chaplin got a yellow and not him? Also, noticed some neanderthal in the crowd tried to get involved in the ruck. Standard Birmingham. Scummy club, scummy fans.
I thought it was a definite penalty but I’m obviously in a minority. Pleased that it ruined Birmingham’s moment as they are the scummiest fans in the country.
Poor game. Niggly fouls all over the place. Brum have good players but just want to use spoiling tactics. They should have killed the game off but sat back once they went 1-0 up.
But once again the ref had to have the last word. I thought they were supposed to be better in the Championship?
Lovely to hear Ipswich manager complaining that it's a short turnaround between the Premier League and the Championship, and they still have a lot of work to do in recruitment and training.
Shows how ahead of the curve we managed to be despite having an equally short turn around.
Chaplin got booked after the equaliser. The reason, he kicked the ball with a lot of force into the crowd, which annoyed the Brum players. A justified booking imo.
I'm quite encouraged by that match. Birmingham offered very little on the ball in terms of creativity and creation of clear-cut chances but what they did do was completely unsettle Ipswich with incredibly aggressive pressing and denial of space. They probably deserved to win. Their goal came from a big clearing header up the pitch and a lively pressing striker making things difficult. On the rare occasion they did create anything it came from their right footed left winger cutting in. It felt an awful lot like what we'll be trying to do. Even if our players aren't as expensive the strategy will be similar and it shows that teams in the Championship can still be thrown off their game by aggression, pressing high up the pitch and violence. Good to know

And nobody got booked in that melee?

His hand was above his head and then touched the ball when roughly level with his head.
You see them given near every week.

Really glad Ipswich equalised.
